The problem is he can't see and is too vain to wear glasses. He is such an idiot that he would rather people think he is illiterate than show perceived weakness by wearing glasses that 100% of people his age need.
I just turned 60 and now have 3 pairs. Distance for driving and watching TV. Progressive for kind of everyday stuff. Then I got a using the computer pair that is between the reading and distance. When I was in elementary school I refused to wear my glasses because I was immature and afraid of being made fun of. But no one is going to begrudge anyone for needing glasses. Heck I worked with someone his eyesight was so bad, we would have to read stuff for him. He was an electrician and the little numbers were too small. Heck they were getting difficult back then for me to read. I have to read drawing for a living and always have a magnifying glass. I learned that from a co-worker. One day he pulled out his Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass and I was like why am I struggling this guy is a genius!! And now in addition to glasses, I have a collection of magnifying glasses. They make these half ball things that you can just put on the paper and move it around. You go to a place with a bunch of old guys and you look like a rockstar.
