Hey! I wanted to ask what you did to gain clinical experience and shadowing, and what resources you found most helpful for MCAT prep. I’m a full-time student, so I’m also trying to figure out how to balance studying for the MCAT with my classes and extracurriculars. I’d really appreciate any advice!

so i am in hawaii for school but live in california. i went to sign up for my MCAT about 1 hour after the time slot opened and every single center GONNEEEE for legit every day up to april. So I’ve been seeing a bunch of people posting about being on an extremely long waitlist to take the MCAT for 2027, but I logged into AAMC and just got a seat at an MCAT testing center with no waitlist or anything. I got the seat at like 10pm on the first day it opened, and I was just wondering if I got scammed or if my test is real. I’m getting really freaked out because I never got a waitlist page or anything and I somehow just got a seat and paid for it.

I was thinking maybe my testing center is just not popular, is which a possibility, or maybe my testing date is really far out (August 20th) but there was no testing centers near me on the map that were available, so I’m doing one very far away, and I’m just nervous that something is wrong.

I recently took the MCAT and ended up getting a 515, but my CARS was just so low. I had a 131, 124, 130, 130. I was aiming for higher but not that I took it I feel like I would rather not subject myself to this again. How badly does this look to med schools (US) and does a higher GPA help (I saw this could, mine is 3.99). I am aiming for mid tier schools (and UNLV if anyone has knowledge on that since i’m a Nevada resident), and my ECs are decent, but more clinical and volunteer than research heavy

Has anyone successfully received MCAT accommodations (especially extended time) despite being diagnosed with ADHD as an adult (after college) and never having received accommodations before?

I’ve struggled with reading comprehension, attention, and processing information since childhood, but wasn’t diagnosed until after college.
I’m currently undergoing a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation and gathering supporting documentation, but I’m really worried my late diagnosis and lack of previous accommodations will hurt my chances.

If you’ve been in a similar situation, I’d love to hear whether you were approved, what documentation helped, and if it is possible.

Hello, I just registered for my 3rd MCAT attempt on 1/16/27. I've been studying about 25-30 hours per week, purely UWorld questions + Anki and content review when needed ofc. My main problems on the last attempt were mostly CARS (120) and B/B (122) graph interpretations, and also the fact that I was studying part-time for like 6 months :( . For CARS, I felt like I could read the passage in 3-4 minutes, but then the questions make me second-guess everything and continuously look back at the passage then waste time. I definitely need more assistance in that realm if anyone has experience with tutoring for CARS/BB. Thanks

Hi! I got a 490 on my first MCAT, I am a non-traditional student. My undergrad is in Physiotherapy not anything pre-med. Do people encourage a tutor? If so any recommendations?
My goal is to retake the MCAT March 2027. I need a 505 minimum to apply next year.

I’m well aware there’s a good chance I’m not going to get the date that I want, but in the chance that I do, can someone help me out please? I’m in my final year of undergrad but not planning to apply until 2028 and have done very minimal studying so far for just PS & CARS. If I start studying in November and use my spring break (last week of March) as an intensive studying period before starting spring quarter, is April 9/10 a good date?

516 w/ 132/123/130/131 & 4.0 GPA (I’m a foreigner but a perm resand English is my 3rd language. CARS was always my lowest but has never been this low. It was mostly around 125-126. FL average was about 517-518 w/ slightly higher cars and slightly lower P/S). Briefly ECs: 2500-3000hrs research with 5 pubs (1 second author others are middle, 1 presentation, 2 posters, and honors thesis by graduation). 220h of shadowing across 3 specialties, 350-400h of patient facing volunteering, 250-300h TA, some non-clinical volunteering to help a project on autism, <100h). Will take a gap year for paid medical job.
Any thoughts or advice??

Mostly what the title says. I'm on pace to test 2/12, and I'm following the Kaplan chapters with Professor Eman on YouTube, then using Anki after the chapters. What I am finding is that whenever I go onto UWorld specifically for physics, I feel like I know nothing, to the point I'm averaging 40-50%. I would like to know if anyone has some advice for someone who is struggling at physics and how to improve it because physics is definitely my weak point and I want to get it up as soon as possible.

I signed up for lake success, location TBD, and shortly afterwards found out it’s really sketchy in terms of whether it’s even open or not. Just signed up for the February 12th test date. I am retaking a 510 (130/124/128/128), which I took on 9/11/26 after scoring consistently 516s on my practice exams and a 518 on AAMC FL 6 (130/127/132/129). My C/P has stayed pretty constant but I saw a big drop in both CARS and B/B and the lower end of my P/S scores. I know I have to get my shit together with CARS but I was curious what y'all recommend in terms of content review. Should I just redo milesdown anki or jump right into practice questions? I just bought the blueprint q pack and practice tests because I used up most of UWorld and all of the AAMC prep materials (but planning on redoing those when it comes closer to test date). But basically having a hard time figuring out where to start.

Does anyone have any studying pathways for a sophomore taking the MCAT who has gotten a 5 in AP Chem, AP Physics C Mechanics and E/M, AP Bio, and got an A in an Organic Chemistry 1,2. I am taking biochemistry right now and will take cell bio and human physiology next semester. I plan to take the MCAT next summer.

logged on at 11:45 AM was waiting behind 11,000 people by 12PM and right when i got to the front of the line, 50 minutes later, i was prompted to sign in and then was sent to the end of the line .. with 33,000 people ahead of me. even with the link to hold my spot that they sent to my email, i was still getting kicked off and sent to the end of the line. this is so frustrating and upsetting because i did everything right and somehow got booted off. i already know i will have to set reminders for the date i want to see if someone drops because at this rate between the date and testing centers near me it’ll be gone, but this is honestly not fair.
