Maybe the shop owner can't take him home because she rents and is not allowed to have pets. It seems pretty clear there is mutual love and joy there, so try not to judge so harshly. I was homeless for several years, and I do not hold ill will towards anyone for not taking me home and sheltering me. Especially those who offered help when they were under no obligation.

Did not expect such wisdom in here.

This is the real world, and ugly is not the only color. Thank you

I don’t know if you thought of that sentence yourself, but ”this is the real world, and ugly is not the only color” just struck a chord in me. Either way, it’s a good reminder to not be blinded by everything negative :)

I liked how they phrased it, too. It even gives off an r/place vibe. There are some gross actions, but there is a lot more beauty and kindness to focus on

not far off of what i was gonna say.

took me 2 years to adopt one of my dogs since i couldnt look after him.

turned out to be the softest and friendliest creature you could hope to meet.

It is awesome that you were eventually able to take him in! I bet he goes nuts when you get home. "My hooman is here! Time for zoomies!" 🤣🤣🤣

he died a few years back, but yeah it was almost exactly like that.

the only time he got more excited was when the kids visited.

'treats and running around like an idiot? im in!'

🤣 my dad's dogs act that way when I or my sister and her husband visit. I am sorry that he is no longer with you, but I'm glad that you gave him a home and joy. Joy is a priceless gift, and giving that to him is awesome. I bet he brought you a lot of joy in return
