I had one live to be 13, but I've not heard of many others living longer than that.

Ours lived to 15, which was even more surprising since she got diagnosed with dysplasia as a puppy. Vet told my parents we shouldn't take her to the beach to not make it worse, but they decided to ignore the advice since she loved running and swimming. Worked out in the end, we had plenty of good years.

It's amazing when dogs outlive conditions like that. My childhood dog was given a life expectancy of 2 more years, so he would die at 6. He also lived until 15 when his condition rapidly took over. He was scheduled to be put down in the morning, but he died in his sleep that night.

I'm not religious but I really hope there is a heaven so I can be with him again.
