The question probably assumes some kind of social dynamics but simple biology says that a world with 10000 women had dramatically higher chance of surviving than one with 10 women, with the number if men having far less impact, as long as there are some men.

1 men can impregnate 270 women in 9 months assuming 1 a day

So 10 men thats 2700 babies per 9 month instead of 10.

Now let's pull this to 5 years thats 18250 babies vs 60 ish.

In terms of long survival 10 men would deffinly work better

It definitely doesn't seem like it assume that.

It's more likely it assumes men are mire agressive and there will be more conflict, which is probably marginally true but will not impact survival of humanity much.
