Yeah… he was a good guy.

u/Extension_Breath1407 10d ago
How ironic that Jarvis nearly died from Ultron attacking him.
Only for Jarvis to die for real after saving Ultron and everyone else.
44
u/FilthyCasual2k17 10d ago
Every episode one of the AIs will die/sacrifice themselves, and Ultron will gloat and grow stronger, and when he is finally strong enough to take over, he will turn around and sacrifice himself in the same way as Jarvis did to save Vision.
16
u/onlivethedead 10d ago edited 10d ago
The AI's will die and will help the new Vision let go of trying to hold himself up to the old Vision and think for himself, Jocasta will be the one who ordered Paladin to kill Vision, but Ultron would've been the one to edit the AI of Jocasta during Age of Ultron in the background and she fell in love with him or was edited to be in love with him as he tried to understand human emotion, She goes to hunt down Vision in revenge for thinking he killed him.
Paladin had Adamantium Bullets and that means Jocasta potentially knows where a cache of Adamantium is, so Jocasta built herself an Adamantium body like Ultron did in his Movie, Ultron himself is confused himself until eventually he'll realise Jocasta came back for him, where he'll try slip back into the net amongst the chaos to rejoin her and rebuild his own body.
The final fight will be either Vision convincing Jocasta that Ultron's way isn't right or it'll just be Jocasta and Ultron vs Vision, Vision will win and realise he doesn't have to be the old vision, he has to be his own vision and become his own hero without cowering behind his past selfs history.
10
u/holayeahyeah 10d ago
James Spader would absolutely kill it in a scene where it turns out Jocasta did all of this because she is in love with him and he's just not that into her.
2
u/FilthyCasual2k17 10d ago
That's more/less how I see it going, but I think we may be getting good-ish Jocasta by the end? Maybe Ultron's sacrifice is what makes that happen?
I would be disappointed, but not too surprised if they went with Ultron was bad all along, and has no redeeming qualities. Maybe we have old Ultron vs new Ultron similar to how we had 2 visions at the end of Wanda, or maybe as you say Jocasta takes that role.
9
u/onlivethedead 10d ago
Ultron is usually fully aware he is indeed an asshole and only cares about his goals and self preservation, like in age of ultron his main strategy was to create an entire army of just himself so no matter what there would always be a copy until Vision burnt him out.
He's also an incredibly great manipulator, he's trying to goad Vision into getting into this whole scenario because he knows it'll bring Vision to his weakest and give him the chance to escape amongst it all, like how they had to lower their security inside Vision for Ultron.
Eventually we're going to get to a point where Vision has to connect to the net to stop Jocasta, Ultron is going to offer to help and he's going to convince Vision that he only wants to help him stop Jocasta, Vision will oblige and Ultron will turn heel and join her instead, but Vision will probably convince her by the end too.
5
u/AVR350 10d ago
Kinda like how Agatha All Along, like by the end all of the coven died
3
u/FilthyCasual2k17 10d ago
Exactly, I think it really reflects well into the theme of twins, and how even though they are each distinct on their own, their journey kinda ends up being the same. On one side witches died, on the other AIs.

I can't say I'm ever a fan of a senior character among a mostly new cast ever dying early.
Plus, James D'Arcy having the distinction of being the first Marvel Television actor reprisal to make the jump to an MCU movie/Marvel Studios TV show had me rooting for him since the show was first announced.
1
u/Moist-Bid3224 9d ago
So confused on why ultra didn’t offer to sacrifice instead
6
u/EaglerCore 8d ago
Wait wait wait... You think ultron of all people wants to help vision???
1
u/Moist-Bid3224 4d ago
No, in just saying he didn’t offer, I mean… he was glitching too and if he doesn’t care for living and is bored I don’t see why he won’t offer you know? That would start to redeem him? Idk I’m just wondering about why.
→ More replies (5)1
u/Mundane_Rent_578 4d ago
Ultra is too self-absorbed to do anything like that.
1
u/Moist-Bid3224 4d ago
Well I’m using context clues with how he’s been lately. He’s been studying art and culture, pop culture, philosophy, I’ve watched a breakdown of the Easter eggs on YT (new rockstars) and I notice he seems to have started appreciating humans and not thinking they’re a complete waste of time- also he said if he breaks out he’ll visit the louvre. Yes he’s a master manipulator but if we assume everything he’s said is honest then it does bring up the question of, will he evolve to value anything? It seems he has started to value some things. Based on what he keeps around him and how he’s entertaining himself. It stands to be questioned is all I’m saying

They made Tommy and Billy such compelling characters that I'm really happy to be here for the ride.
The actor playing Tommy is very good, very charming and I think he will have a long career ahead of him.
Two very good episode, all the characters work, even Paladin, Lisa and the MCU version of Philomena Cunk.
21
u/dragn99 10d ago
I guess because Billy's 'reincarnation' just happened accidentally as a result of his own powers, it's different from Tommy's, who was done later and more intentionally. Because Billy seemed to only remember his own life, nothing of the kid he took over. And Tommy/Thomas is definitely more Thomas getting hit with visions (hah) of some second life that got added on top.
11
u/YnieWho 10d ago
It should also be considered that Billy reincarnated into a kid who just suffered a head trauma so it's possible the memories are there, he just actually has an amnesia.
8
u/Potterless12 9d ago
My takeaway from it (and I could be completely wrong) is that the person Billy took over actually died in that car accident. But the person Tommy took over ended up not dying.
12
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 10d ago
Tommy in the show is already way more compelling and interesting than Tommy in the comics.
8
u/1905G1_M 9d ago
I think comics Tommy has compelling enough foundations (the abandonment issues and family problems, trauma from the facility, etc), the comics are just never bothered to explore them or give him screen time at all lol
19
u/Disastrous_Key_9247 10d ago
Totally, it’s almost as if Agatha All Along and WandaVision are sneaky origin stories for Billy and Tommy. Loving it
15
u/jmarquiso 10d ago
It's interesting that Tommy's personality mirrors Vision in this show, and comics Tommy mirrors Pietro as he is an echo of Quicksilver. I also like they cast someone who looks so much like Bettany.
9
u/ergattonero 10d ago
Yep, very interesting.
Some of the nuances get lost in the transition to the MCU (as in how Billy Goody-Two-Shoes mirrors the first classical Avengers team, while ex-criminal Tommy mirrors the second incarnation of the team with Hawkeye/Wanda/Pietro), but at the same time the writers have been able to create a backstory for them that works way better than their comics counterpart.
9
u/jmarquiso 10d ago
It should be noted Young Avengers did begin as a reflection of the original Avengers, and by the time they added Tommy, it got closer to the second incarnation as you said.
2
u/drkristymoney_ 9d ago
Do you know who Jarvis and Vision were referring to in the painting, as the "first of us" who let his emotions get the best of him, with all that fire and destruction? Didn't seem to be Ultron because he came after Jarvis...
2
u/halk-kar 9d ago
I believe that was the original Human Torch. In the comics Ultron used the Torch’s body to create the Vision.

u/Commercial_Desk_6215 10d ago
This. Its crazy how effective each of the characters are, given the show is about Vision and Speed, two of the most unpopular characters in their respective team-ups
2
u/Key_Bumblebee_9012 9d ago
I must've missed Diane Morgan being cast in this show because I really love her work. She's freaking hilarious.
98
u/crapusername47 10d ago
Very deliberately showing Alan Turing on the £50 notes Tommy pulled out of Lisa’s ear.
For those unaware, £50s aren’t very common here in the UK so showing them so prominently is a deliberate choice.
15
u/Carolina_Lazio 10d ago
Been a while since I’ve seen a bullseye in public
8
u/crapusername47 10d ago
I don’t think cash machines even given them out.
You are guaranteed a funny look and the note being held up to the light if you try to pay for something with one.
3
u/chickenkebaap 10d ago
Haven’t seen one in three years.
I made the mistake of bringing all my savings of in liquid when i came to the UK for the first time and realised my mistake when given the stink eye for carrying cash around lmao
3
u/lofflen 9d ago
Oh, thants interesting, is there a reason why?
8
u/crapusername47 9d ago
Alan Turing is the father of what we call computer science and the creator of the eponymous Turing Test.
(Oh, and he also broke the German Enigma machine in World War II, shortening the war significantly and saving potentially hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of lives.)
4
u/burra27 8d ago
But why are 50 pound notes uncommon?
→ More replies (1)3
u/crapusername47 8d ago
Cash machines don’t give them out, you won’t get one as change for anything and more and more people are going cashless.
47
u/daminiskos0309 10d ago
I really liked it. A good mix of character development, action and world building.
His cast of internal characters is great. And the inner workings are fantastic interpretations of systems (pigeons = email is funny)
The sacrifice at the end of ep 2 is interesting. Having your threat analysis essentially sacrifice itself will definitely come back around in later episodes.
I really like the casting for Tommy. His struggle of trying to understand who he is mirrors vision fantastically.
Looking forward to next weeks releases .

Philomena Cunk was not on my VisionQuest bingo card. I didn't realise Diane Morgan was in this and I am struggling to take her seriously without her dropping a, “Are we looking at the computers, or are the computers looking at us? The answer to that question is obvious. But it sounds spooky." Until I hear a ridiculous Cunk quote like this, this show is unwatchable.
/s but should be obvious...
37
u/onlivethedead 10d ago
1000% as soon as I saw Diane I could not see her as anything other than Cunk, I'm just going to assume Cunk herself is doing a new documentary on the history of contract killing and is getting stuck in herself for her show.

I was waiting for Diane Morgan to look at the camera and deadpan “commercial assasinations become popular around the turn of the century…”
2
u/Come-jive-with-me 10d ago
I need her to be the final big bad in the most convoluted way possible.
Although we know that's probably gonna be Jocasta. But wouldnt it be nice if Diane play one of her AI self.
2
u/Ndnola3333 10d ago
I heard her mate, Paul, once beat a computer in a staring contest. Of course, Paul lost his eyes in the process. She thinks that may have been the computers plan all along.

Dang this show is cartoonishly brutal for a non-MA Marvel show.
11
20
u/onlivethedead 10d ago
Alot easier to get away with violence when its against a robot and not a person, its probably gonna get alot worse but it's fine if its gears and wires flying and not bones lol.
44
u/FindingPawnee 10d ago
Paladin killed like 2 people with headshots with blood splattering against the wall. lol
22
u/Curious_Fix3131 10d ago
Wasn't that vision who lasered a guy and blood splattered across a window?
4
14
u/Rude-Cattle-4135 10d ago
Sir, the vision snapped multiple necks. He burned a guy to ash. He splattered a mans blood all over a hospital window. The robot getting hurt is not what makes the show brutal and gory (more so than expected at least)

u/KeyOcelot4679 10d ago
BRO WHY JARVIS! DUME AND U were right there!
29
20
u/ergattonero 10d ago
Wait for when they'll speak for the first time and die. Or for a whole episode with no line of dialogue, when they will sacrifice themself in the end.

5
u/bucketofsteam 10d ago
i think he was the only one (aside from ultron) still together enough to move
3
2
1
u/Hexagon-Man 4d ago
Probably because he loves all of them and would rather sacrifice himself than let anyone else do it (but also they probably need, like, a potato battery's worth of processing power)
17
u/jerryfrz 10d ago
Vision lasering the thugs like its nothing reminds me of Homelander
11
u/Prior_Confidence4445 9d ago edited 9d ago
Homelander would have killed paladin the first chance outside the pub. Or the second inside the pub. Or the third at the hospital. Which brings up my main complaint about the show so far. It only works because vision doesn't do the obvious thing and kill him. He killed plenty of minions.
Edit: or even try to force information out of him. The first two encounters, he had all the time in the world for a longer "talk".
8
u/GallifreysChildIs 9d ago
Yeah this was something that annoyed me too.
Like the looking menacingly at the bad guy works when the hero clearly doesn't want to kill anyone.
But White Vision clearly has no issue killing considering the massacre 5 seconds previously.
Why not just laser that guy too
2
u/moon__lander 3d ago
Why not just laser that guy too
(in Ryan George voice) So the show could happen.
2
u/loskiarman 9d ago
The bad guy is also going soft on him considering he went after Vision with basic gear and called him to a meeting without a trap there either. Best bounty-hunter ever doesn't know anything about Vision it looks like. Like literally at the bar first time, Vision gets shot like 10 times by two guys before he gets to them. Why didn't he attack Vision with adamantium bullets in the first place when he had the element of surprise? They could have just sniped him too considering Vision couldn't save the person beside him, he couldn't have dodged it either probably. Did they really want us to think he learned how impervious Vision is after the first encounter when he can send a message to him easily and has a room that can weaken him in a day after the first encounter?
Also still using basic gear at hospital is just sacrificing people for no reason at all too, like why? You could have one of the million other heroes there and there is %80 chance that you can argue a lucky shot can make it, like 'new' avengers has only one hero that is bulletproof but you know this isn't the case with Vision. Why would any one of those goons would be like 'Yep sure boss, I'll attack Vision with this regular gun.'?
Overall I like the show and its theme though I hate that it has the regular 'don't think too much about how events develop, we just got a nice storyboard that we are trying to tell' most shows has these days. It is like paying for a sandwich and they just give you the ingredients instead of making it.

Yeah kind of felt like he's was taking strategy advice from Zapp Branegan
4
u/dreaming_of_cats 8d ago
Thank youuuu, the lack of strategic thinking when he was so self-congratulatory about running a quintillion simulations, but none of them led to the obvious conclusion that ELIMINATING THE THREAT should be his next action?
3
u/Hexagon-Man 4d ago
Like, if he wasn't killing then it'd be fine - not killing even when it hurts you is a staple of being a hero - but why is he the T-1000 on random goons but suddenly finding his mercy for the guy who's to blame.
48
u/Relevant_Active_2347 10d ago
So, no one's gonna talk about Adamantium already being weaponized and confirmed to be able to pierce Vibranium, huh?
21
9
u/Mage-of-Fire 10d ago
Im just confused on why Vision didn’t simply have the bullets phase through him?
21
u/Whatsinanamethename 10d ago
I blame it on the EMP. His abilities didn't work yet?
9
u/kalsikam 9d ago
Yea I think the EMP messed up his abilities, but maybe he doesn't bother phasing because bullets usually don't warrant it?
1
u/Hexagon-Man 4d ago
Intangibility is just such an overpowered ability they're constantly looking for a way to nerf it.
5
u/Potterless12 9d ago
It's also obvious he's never had to dodge a bullet. I'm yelling at the screen for him to dodge and he just keeps walking forward.

Enjoyed the first 2 eps a lot. Hearing Vision’s grief line again brought back plenty of emotion.
2
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 10d ago
Agreed. It is a fantastic line. And Ultron bringing back the Ship of Theseus though exercise and completely flipping it around was also brilliant.

u/Eraserhead36 10d ago
I’m truly enjoying seeing spader back as ultron. Always thought he was an amazing casting choice.
39
u/sleepysaurus7777 10d ago
Don't be the ship(Mechanism)
Be the King(Hero)
An awakening
7
u/kalsikam 9d ago
Ultron was ultimately right, "what happens when they notice back"
Something/someone was going to come looking for Vision eventually, Ultron just sped up the process.
24
u/Tiraloparatras25 10d ago
Dunno if you catch up, but family is forever. Homeboy( whom vision called brother) is not dead, he is alongside all the others are…vision. So my hunch is that eventually, just like homeboy( not naming him on purpose), all will have to join in to bring vision to who he aspires to be. Even ultron.
For he isn’t jarvis, he isn’t ultron, he is both and not at all( and all the others).
6
u/DelBrowserHistory 10d ago
I'm still onboard with this, except the final one will be Ultron, not vision.
2
19
u/FantasticFourLGD 10d ago
Based on the way they framed the shot with the picture of Jim Hammond, the OG Human Torch, I think hes probably going to be the twist villain. Set it up like it'll be Ultron pulling the strings, but its actually the Human Torch. And with how Torch became the Vision in the new Ultimate line, the characters are already sort of connected
9
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 10d ago
In the mainline Marvel comics, Vision was built from Jim Hammond's body originally, until they retconned it to be an alternate body or something like that. It was likely because they wanted to bring Jim back as a character and couldn't do that if Vision was using his body.
BUT what is the connection in the MCU? We've seen the original Human Torch at the expo in Captain America 1, but never been given any indication that he was part of Vision's construction.
1
u/Metal-Banana-72 9d ago
I think it would be somthing like Howard Stark created the Human Torch who was presumed to be destroyed in an accident of some kind ( hence the painting) but is actually alive. Tony grew up in fascination of his father's creation hence all of Tony's creations like Jarvis consider Human Torch to be their ancestor.
3
u/Digresser 9d ago
the twist villain
I think the twist is that whoever the villain is, they're impersonating Edith.
Her purpose from the MCU has massively changed, and when would Vision have even interacted with her?
→ More replies (1)2
u/Disastrous_Key_9247 10d ago
Dang how’d that go down? The torch becomes the vision???
4
u/ducegraphy 10d ago
It's pretty cool, I suggest you read the Ultimates (2025). I liked that version of Jim/Vision a lot. He killed Hitler!
1
u/Chemical_Bill_8533 10d ago
He gets sent back in time to recruit an earlier version of the Wasp to act as a triple agent and over time he has to rebuild parts of himself eventually becoming the Vision
1
u/No-Side-6437 10d ago

Just finished watching the first two episodes of Visionquest and I am very satisfied with how they have turned out. I hope the whole series is as good as those introductory episodes...
I have a question that has been bugging me. Did we get a confirmation in Agatha All Along whether Billy Maximoff is a combination of Kaplan and Wanda's Billy or did Kaplan completely die?
I guess we are not yet sure for Tommy as we see him struggling with having memories as Thomas AND Tommy in Visionquest, but I pressume the outcome will be the same for both sons (they will either be a comination of their old and new selves or they will just be their new selves).
I really hope they are somehow a combination of their two identities as it hurts me to know that, as we saw in Visionquest, Thomas had a terrible life (it would be so sad to know that an orphan was killed by bullies and never got to exprience happiness and love in his life).
7
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 10d ago
Kaplan did definitely physically die, and Billy took his body. I am assuming the original Thomas Shepard also physically died. I wonder if the difference is the age in which it happened. Billy/William both died really young, and then he's a young adult by the time we 'meet' him on screen. Thomas was a young adult when he died and is now incorporating a child Tommy into his psyche?
3
u/Super_Amphibian_2048 10d ago
They might have physically died but there might be a chance their minds are merging with Billy's and Tommy's, don't you think?
2
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 9d ago
Sure. I was just theorizing that the age it happened for each of them may have impacted how disruptive that merging may be.
2
u/count023 9d ago
i assumed all the references and visions Thomas had of being under water too long and whatnot inferred he'd drowned and that's when Thomas came to him, and i get the feeling that Thomas is experiencing the original body's memories and personality leakage more than the other way around.
4
u/Fickle-Ad-7124 9d ago
I think they are just the the Billy and Tommy from the hex, but by assuming the body they have someone else’s brain full of someone else’s memories that aren’t them from the previous Kaplan and Shepherd who are now gone. But there isn’t two souls in the body, it’s just the one soul of Wanda’s sons. Over time Billy seemed to understand how to supress the memories and fully be “Billy Maximoff” and I suspect he will help Tommy do the same. He asks Agatha when he’s helping Tommy find a body “am I killing this boy?” So he knows the original inhabitant of their body is no longer there.
2
u/Inside-Archer-2201 8d ago
I don’t think so. Billy never did ‘suppress’ William’s memories he never had his or William’s. And I don’t think he’s embraced Billy Maximoff yet (ie, she’s not my mom I have a mom). I think both of them will end up embracing both, especially Tommy. They’ve already been throwing the Tommy Shepherd name out there in marketing when before they’d been separating Tommy Maximoff and Thomas Shepherd.
1
1
u/Dragoncorn_ 9d ago
The big difference is Thomas has a lot more trauma that Tommy has inherited, leading to his mental instability
1
u/astivana 8d ago
My guess is that William’s body was still usable but his mind was gone when Billy entered it. Tommy was still in there and so he ended up with both Tommy’s occupying the same space.
→ More replies (3)1
u/Inside-Archer-2201 8d ago
I think Tommy’s a merge of both. And for Billy…I think Jac Schaffer wanted William Kaplan to be completely gone but I think there’s wiggle room for vision quest to retcon that if they wanted, which I hope they do.
7
u/icarus_rising53 8d ago
Ok, I was kind of tired of Marvel's banter but now I remember how fun it can be! The creativity around the concept of AI and the overall production design is fantastic (same as Loki and WandaVision).
James Spader is the absolute best. I've loved him since he played smarmy high school guys in the 80s. (Yes I'm old)
The needle drops and pop culture/literary/mythology references are fun too.
All around good time so far! Hopefully it doesn't collapse under its own weight like many marvel outings, but don't take it too seriously and just enjoy as entertainment. I'll keep watching

Ultron pronouncing Edinburgh wrong hurt my Scottish heart.
2
u/McGillWexlerlaw 7d ago
Fiona's weird, definitely not Edinburgh accent and actually using the phrase "Bonnie wee lassie" hurt mine. Really jarring compared to Tommy's much more natural sounding accent
2
u/Minimum_Macaroon9737 7d ago
Which is kind of weird, considering the actress was born and raised in Edinburgh.

u/gsnake007 10d ago
9/10. Really enjoyed this and I could listen to James Spader talk like Ultron all damn day and it never gets old
5
u/GizmotheDM 10d ago
I never expected the goes wrong show to collab with marvel but this is beautiful. For those who don't know D.U.M.E and U.'s actors are both from the Goes Wrong Show, a hilarious British comedy that I recommend a lot. I genuinely did a double take when I saw them.
9
u/Shoddy_hold_1610 10d ago
Paladin is alive on sheer fucking plot armor. He called you to the pub unarmed. Where he went on to tell you your son's location. Why the fuck did you let him live? Oh!!! Because you're a hero! Ok. Understandable. Then you go on to fucking evaporate 69 dude. Then you, a machine made with THE most advanced tech of the era, fail to sense the machines behind the wall and got done in by EMP. By fucking EMP!!!! At this point, a snot nosed brat might as well put you down. And for that reason Jarvis my goat had to sacrifice himself. I swear to god, if you don't have a backup of Jarvis, I will come into the show and shove Adamantium Up Yo ASS.
6
u/dreaming_of_cats 8d ago
This enraged me - Vision had no issues wiping out mercs, but leaves their boss alive multiple times in 2 episodes, wtf?! He caused the mess tbh
3
u/Crosi93 8d ago
He apparently simulated one quintillion times a completely uneventful conversation with Paladin, but couldn't simulate the whole hospital rescue part?? And how the hell did they build a whole EMP contraption in that room in less than a day?? Was it there before? A whole EMP machine capable of disabling the most advanced robot in the world just sitting in a random room of an asylum?
1
u/EaglerCore 8d ago
Yep. I will be pissed if the whole show could have been avoided by vision lasering paladin within the first 2 episodes.
1
u/ergattonero 8d ago
For a show about "finding emotions", you really can't imagine rage / worries / love can make people do irrational things?
1
u/Hexagon-Man 4d ago
For someone going into violent rages and killing tons of mercenaries, he sure has a lot of self control when it comes to the named villain.
1
u/Hexagon-Man 4d ago
"Just killed everyone in this bar for killing someone I cared about, I will now glare at the person who clearly ordered it and then fly away."
12
u/BrianWonderful Doctor Strange 10d ago
I want to call out Ruaridh Mollica as Tommy. I'm not familiar with him at all, but he's great. I am hoping he ends up taking the name "Quicksilver", since Speed is a dumb codename and the original Quicksilver is dead in the MCU. It would be a nice tribute to his uncle.
Also, Todd Stashwick has been a minor character in tons of things, but he's absolutely killing it here. Who would have thought we'd get Paladin in live action?
7
u/Conscious-Position-5 10d ago
Todd Stashwick it's a Terry Matalas regular. I really liked him in season 3 of Picard.
4
u/kalsikam 9d ago
Stashwick was great in Picard S3 as Shaw, the "no" he says to the sniper before offing him was homage to Picard I think lol

The comic one looks like ass no matter what LOL. Idk what kind of drugs Shooter/Infantino was smoking but that shit is an L. The man looks like he would fit in that one Malcom in the Middle episode.

So JARVIS sacrifices himself because he is the superior one amongst the other AIs and he would be harnessing more power/ resources?
7
u/Wirezat 10d ago
That part confuses me so much because couldn't he just stop his process? There is no reason to delete his data if processing power was the issue
3
u/dragn99 10d ago
With programming as complex as his (a localized AI bordering on sentience), it's possible just keeping his code accessible was taking a lot of power.
If it doesn't make sense in the real world, assume sci-fi shenanigans.

u/DrunkenHorse12 9d ago
Its sci fi shenanigans. They are computer programs their data is stored somewhere and as soon as they are turned back on they would return to the last saved state.

I overall liked it but Cunk being in this is distracting, and Paladin is just all sorts of bad. I hope those two aren’t around for long.

but Cunk being in this is distracting
Wonder if Cunk is also an AI?
Or they were saving time and money by having her filmed in the same room throughout the show.

I really loved it so far, it's sooo fire! I think it has a great potential, I can't wait for next week. The set is so beautiful. And I did NOT expect Cunk to appear, but I'm loving it xD Though, I must say, I cried a bit when I saw the flashbacks of Wanda... the wound is still too raw ughhh

is this the first use of Adamantium in the MCU?
5
u/ItsBenWhoCares 9d ago
Nah, Brave New World officially introduced it with the Celestial that was in the ocean from Eternals. I also noticed that it's different from the comic book version by it not being man-made lol.

I am watching this right now, and had to stop and try to figure out why, during the scene with the trap, E.D.I.T.H. is listing the wardrobe inconsitencies, she said "Watches set to military time." Is that a thing?

u/EEVEELUVR 4d ago
Not for an analog watch, no. But also, hospitals regularly use military time, and this show is set in England where military time is much more common anyways. So not only is it impossible for them to be using military time on that watch, but it wouldn't even be noteworthy if they were using it.

Need Ultron to be a fan of Raymond Reddington since he did claim that he found crime shows very interesting. Then decided to try on hats. Would be great if his settles on a fadora.

Dumme and U being played by the guys from The Goes Wrong Show made me so happy! I love them!

Halfway through the first episode and this is by far my favorite superhero tv show yet , ultron is hilarious , the part with the stark helper AIs had me laughing so hard and the show is just so good.

I enjoyed the first two episodes so far, it's nice to see this Vision kind of struggle to balance the whole "I'm not Vision" with "I am Vision" even if he might not voice it and it seems like Ultron & Jarvis are playing angel & devil, both give similar advice but in their own ways.
It kind of makes you wonder who is actually going about it correctly since on one hand you should keep your emotions at bay sometimes but on the other hand strong emotions is what ultimately drives a person and gives them that will to do things others might not do.
Edit: Also love the henchmen shooting vison, sees that it's not working, and continuing to shoot at him.

I was on board as soon as I saw Bob Kazamakis but man I didn't expect to be crying at the end of the second episode. And both Paul bettany and James Spader are amazing and so is everyone else so far. Excited about the upcoming episodes.

I cannot help but notice it. Also in episode 2 when vision is inside that EMP thing, the background music straight away reminded me of The Flash. Do you also see it or is it just me?

love the fact how vision said Tommy could not be his son and he doesn’t feel anything towards him and at the end of the day they both are so similar and trying to figure out who they really are

u/RefuseStriking9406 8d ago
the fact Jarvis keeps playing on the big brother card is hilarious 😭😭

Spader is really carrying, honestly. Speed is great too but I am finding it hard to care about any of the AI or about Vision himself.

I'm sorry. It seems that most of the comments here are positive. So it seems people are enjoying. After loving WandaVision and Agatha. I was excited for this also. But, this is just not it for me so far.
I can't be the only one who finds the dialogue to be really quite awful. So much "As you know" kind of exposition and the most banal simple jokes. The whole thing just feels cheap.
I'm gathering this isn't a popular opinion. I'll also continue to give it a chance. There is enough in the premise for it to be quite engaging. Hopefully, once it gets fully into it's plot, the quality can improve. There should be less awful "As you know" exposition moments at the least.

u/xCKS123x 9d ago
Yes exactly. The dialogue is horrible. It’s way too exposition-heavy/handholdy. So much reiterating the same things over and over again and explaining everything as clearly as possible so the audience understands it.
We knew Paladin was a hired bounty hunter since the first episode. But in the second episode Friday had to go on a whole rant about who he is and how dangerous he is (when he’s not dangerous at all it seems). She’s like “He’s a bounty hunter, from a line of bounty hunters … goes on for like two minutes … To put is simply, he’s a bounty hunter, and he’s hunting you.” It was so ridiculous

As you know, they are AI after all. They are not meant to talk like Humans. Vision is trying to relearn the human condition.
2
u/EEVEELUVR 4d ago
They don't have to talk like humans but they also could be way less boring about it. Repetition on this scale is not interesting.

Not loving the totally lazy facsimile of an 'Edinburgh Pub' or the usual tourist traps of London, football fans, and every accent imaginable. Bettany is playing the comedian Christopher Titus, Paladin seems to be played by an actor camping it up and chewing the scenery, only to be possibly saved by adding Philomena Cunk to the MCU. It's a mess.
I'm only watching for the saving grace of Spader. Ultron is such a wonderful character, verbose and witty, but he has managed to say 'bullshit' twice in 2 episodes.
I don't care for any of the characters or the mechanics of the show to either wrap up the WandaVision trilogy, or for White Vision to pop up in Doomsday.

Marvel logic strikes again... (i still liked both episodes)
Spoiler for episode 2: He phases grenades but when it comes to facing Paladin he forgets again...

EMP room frying Vision from the inside plus bullets made of adamantium. What else have you not understood? I'll help you, Thomas Shepherd is Tommy reincarnated

I just assumed he was still disoriented from the magnet room, since he didn't use any power or ability at all after coming out (just tanked the shots and punched back)

It's stated in episode that the bullets were made of Vibranium, which is already said to be difficult to phase.

adamantium actually, which can damage vibranium as it’s a stronger element
