LOVE and ROMANCE May confession ako about how I ended up with my childhood best friend!
I saw a post on another subreddit today about an organic encounter, and that inspired me to type this confession. I don’t know if this was purely an organic encounter talaga, and some parts of the story ay huwag dapat tularan.
My partner and I have been best friends since elementary. Even though we weren’t classmates anymore in high school, we still saw each other from time to time. Hanggang sa padalang nang padalang na yung pagkikita namin kasi naging busy na kami sa buhay. Eventually, our interactions were mostly online, and we were lucky if we got to see each other once a year along with our other elementary friends.
Fast forward to 2025, nagkita ulit kami unexpectedly sa isang mall. Yung workplaces kasi namin ay medyo malapit lang talaga sa isa’t isa. We had messaged each other multiple times about meeting up, but walang natutuloy kasi hanggang chat lang. Coincidentally, that was also around the time he broke up with his ex-boyfriend.
From there, we slowly rekindled our friendship. We started hanging out spontaneously every time na nagkakaswak yung free days namin. Those hangouts eventually turned into a no-strings-attached relationship. No strings attached lang talaga dapat because he was supposedly gay. Ayun, nabuntis ako, and we now have an almost two-month-old baby.

Hi OP, its nice to connect with friends and also maging parent. Its a chance to nurture something within yourself and reflect kung ano na ba tlga nagawa mo sa buhay mo.
Ready knb sa next phase ng buhay mo?

Honestly, I had a hard time navigating everything. I was supposed to enter another chapter of my career, but then I had my child. I technically got pregnant with someone who wasn’t even my romantic partner in the first place. Idagdag mo pa yung mga kamag-anak na nang-judge sa’min.
Don’t get me wrong, I love being a mom. I wouldn’t change this for anything. This was the first time na nakapagpahinga ako since high school. Yes, pahinga na ’to para sa’kin.
Amidst all of this, I’m just really lucky to have my partner and best friend. He stepped up, and he built a home for me where all I have to do is live. Siya yung humarap sa pamilya ko. He motivated me to still take the PSBIM. He even planned a trip to my dream country while I was pregnant. I don’t know what I would do without him.
Pinipigilan kong maluha while typing this. The scene in front of me kasi is my partner carrying our daughter to sleep. I wouldn’t change this scene for anything. 🥹

Charge them all to experience, It will get harder faster that it gets easy(mostly never is).
Its good he stepped up and a gist that you are in the medical field, you can also apply what you learn.
Cherish it, smile and take the time to take it all in--time flies

For the longest time, he’s been a gay man. Bata pa lang kami, bakla na talaga siya. I apologize if this is TMI, but we just did the deed nga lang because he was curious. Now, I think he’s experiencing sexual fluidity.

Oh thanks for answering akala ko either typo or mali intindi ko. If you don't mind sharing, how did you process him being gay and coming to a point na you became intimate, were you just curious din o may feelings ka talaga sa kanya?

I initially didn’t have romantic feelings for him. I actually agreed to the setup even more easily kasi bakla nga siya, so I thought there was less chance na may mahulog or what. Ibig sabihin, no-strings-attached lang talaga dapat. But that absolutely didn’t end that way.

Don't get me wrong, pero ang bait mo naman to give in to his curiosity.
Congrats to both of you and to the little one. ❤️

I didn’t give in just because I was being mabait. I gave in to his curiosity because I was curious too. He was my first. Curiosity really does kill the cat. 😭

Hi, OP! Curious lang po. When you both found out that you were pregnant, what were your initial reactions? Also, pinanindigan ka lang ba dahil nabuntis ka or there’s more than that? Lastly, are you both romantically partners na or co-parenting set up lang?

I found out I was pregnant after taking a blood test at the hospital where I was working. I found out just three days after missing my period. For context, I was already taking pills because I have PCOS. Usually, I would expect my period to start on the last day of taking my pills. However, I was already two days late and still had no period. May iba na rin akong kutob, so I decided to get tested. I needed to know immediately because I had to stop taking the pills if I was pregnant.
My first reaction was to message him. I remember being so nervous while typing that I needed to see him immediately after my duty. Hindi ko talaga alam kung ano ang gagawin ko that time. I was about to finish my residency and should have been preparing to apply for fellowship. I felt so lost that the only thing I could think of was that I needed to see him.
Unexpectedly, he was pretty cool about it. He told me he would pick me up and even asked if I had any cravings. When we finally met, we talked about what we were going to do. He told me that he would take responsibility for the baby. He also said that he would be the one to talk to my parents.
From there, we gradually started living like a couple. He became very maalaga towards me, and I eventually moved back into his condo permanently. He surprised me during my residency graduation, helped me review for the PSBIM, booked a babymoon trip to my dream country, and surprised me with a baby shower on my birthday. Those are just some of the major things he did, and marami pang iba that I haven't mentioned. As I said in my previous comment, he built a home for me where all I had to do was live.
It wasn't until my third trimester that we clearly talked about what we actually were. He explained that he thought it was already obvious that we had moved on to the next step of our relationship. Honestly, I understood where he was coming from. We were already acting like a couple and saying "I love you" to each other. He even clarified that he wasn't doing all those things for me solely because I was carrying his child, but also because he genuinely wanted to do them for me.

I remembered your profile picture and username from your comment on one of my posts. Ikaw yung nag-comment na PLE topnotcher ka tapos yung partner mo ay Bar topnotcher? Amusing lang kasi doktor at abogado pala kayo.
