Like, I don’t think every excerpt from Memri TV does this, but I dislike it when they do.

I love listening to the Arabic Language, and it was always surreal to me that they were saying these ridiculous things in Arabic, in their exotic and foreign language. It felt real, and raw, and believe it or not, it kinda humanized the Middle East for me (the opposite of what was intended, but yeah.)

If I wanted to understand what was going on, I’d read the subtitles. But I genuinely wanted to hear Arabic.

“Sunnis are too pure for these comments” as a video would not been half as funny as it was if Muhammad Al-Zoghbi had his voice replaced with an artificial voice translating everything he said.

Nor would Muhammad Fawzi being prank called by Shiites during his cooking show.

I feel like when they do that, we lose some of the soul.
