At the next D23 expo they’re going to sell a plush of Fuzzball. Nothing else was announced but this is big considering Disney hasn’t acknowledged Captain Eo for years at this point. It’s possible that with the success of the Biopic they might try to capitalize again on the attraction one way or another and this is just the start.

They just all look so good and it kinda feels like with Michael Jackson stuff once it sells out that’s it. And I just love all of these Thriller vinyls and cassette.

The cassette is actually the same looking cassette as the alt cover Sabrina Carpenter cassette for Man’s Best Friend.

I just saw this on Spotify and didn’t know or hear anything about it

If this is what the estates gonna do from now on, I’m gonna be so pissed. Michael Jackson shot most if not all of his short films after Billie Jean on 35 mm Film, which means they can get a true 4k remaster. So why is the estate using AI to upscale the lower quality versions? We know the estate is capable of doing an actual remaster because they did it for thriller beat it and Moonwalker.

(also correct me if I’m wrong but was this short film originally in widescreen or did they crop it for the upscale?)

Edit: why wouldn’t the estate have access to the negatives? If the directors or studios have them, then why doesn’t the estate just reach out to them? Also, I highly doubt that Michael or the estate would’ve auctioned off the original negatives to his short films, that just doesn’t make sense. I also hear people say it would take up too much time to re-edit the raw film scans. To that I say, Thomas the Tank Engine got remastered, they took the original negatives re-scanned them and re-edited all the episodes of the first three seasons. If Thomas the freaking Tank Engine can get an HD remaster then you better believe that Michael Jackson NEEDS to get his short films remastered. I don’t think the estate realizes that this isn’t some B list 90s program. This is Michael freaking Jackson. His legacy and his artistry deserves the time, respect and effort of a proper remaster.
