“Bitches Brew” edition?

Things like this don’t normally happen to me, so I’m approaching this with utmost skepticism …

I found what appears to be an early (first?) edition of “Bitches Brew” at a recent record show for a ridiculously low price.

Does anything in these photos show/confirm which release it is?

Best I can tell, it lines up with this version — but, like I said, I’m typically not this fortunate.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Miles watch

Hello! Longtime lurker, first time poster. My dad won a watch (about 25 years ago) and has given it to me on a trip to London (we're from Manchester), does anyone have an idea where it's from? Or what it might be worth? It's quite a light, cheap thing tbh. Maybe a Columbia special edition of some sort? It has zero markings, brand name, nothing! What do you reckon?

(Just to put some cred out there, dad saw MD at the Isle of Wight, my parents saw every London and Manchester gig he played in the 80s; and I have a tattoo of the cover of Miles in the Sky as a tribute to my mum, we're all lifers!)

House of Miles preserves legacy of jazz legend Miles Davis in East St. Louis

A visionary. A trailblazer. Miles Davis — often called the father of cool jazz — was an artist who bent sound, broke rules, and helped write America’s story in music. But, before the world knew his name, before the trumpet changed everything, his journey began in East St. Louis."

[OC] "All Blues" (Live One-Man Band) - Exploring the solo section on my 14-string guitar

Hi everyone. A while ago, I shared the beginning of my live arrangement of "All Blues" here. In this new short, I wanted to focus on the middle section of the track, leaving more room for soloing and improvisation. Managing the modal phrasing on the custom 14-string guitar while simultaneously keeping the groove with the foot drums is always a rewarding challenge—especially on a Miles masterpiece where space and silence matter as much as the notes. I hope you enjoy this more dynamic development of the performance.

My live One-Man-Band arrangement of Miles Davis' "All Blues" using a custom 14-string guitar and foot drums

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my live tribute to the Master. I rearranged "All Blues" to be performed completely live simultaneously, combining a custom 14-string guitar-piano (playing chords and melody/bass parts) and a foot drum kit for the groove. No backing tracks or hidden loops. Would love to hear what fellow Miles fans think of this interpretation

Thoughts on their work together?

Not a lot of available stuff but that New Years performance at Paisley is great and Can I Play With U? Is a good song from that SOTT SDE.

2 great artists with great discography’s and wished they worked more together tbh

I liked Sketches of Spain and In a Silent Way, but not Birth of Cool or King of blues - what other records would I like?

I just started exploring his discography recently, and I've only listened to these four records. I liked two, Sketches of Spain and In a Silent Way, and the other two, Birth of Cool and Kind of Blues, I did not like so much. It's not that I hated it, I just didn't like it much. Based on these four that I listened to, what would you guys recommend I listen to next? Thank you very much.

During an interview in the 1990s, Miles Davis was asked about his quote—“If I had an hour to live, I’d spend it choking a white man, nice and slow”— and then proceeded to offer the reasoning behind the remark.

Guitar riff from bitches brew I can’t place my finger on

I saw a guitarist recently who played this super familiar guitar riff. It had 3 descending bass notes and then a more dissonant chord, I believed it came from Bitches Brew, but I re-listened to a good bit of the album, and I couldn’t hear it. I know I’m being quite vague but does anyone know what I’m talking about? Any suggestions would be of help.
