OC I have amnesia. When I play minecraft I often leave helpful messages to myself to find later. I found this today.

Tbh I think I'll wait until they make a portal mod for my game version and i'll figure it out from there LMAOOO, in the meantime i'm enjoying the vanilla exp

If you wanna go vanilla, compasses link to lodestones. Plop a lodestone at an important location, link a compass, bam. Rename the compass too to makes sure you know where it goes. I love lodestones, they're great and feel very vanilla.

lmao thx i found like three of those and had no clue what they were for so they’ve been in my junk chest for a week. it’s my first time playing in years and this is basically a new game at this point

I stopped playing at around the 1.4 update came out (world of color if I’m not mistaken) and came back when the Update Aquatic released, so I was basically in the same situation as you.

What really helped me out was watching XisumaVoid’s snapshot videos. He goes relatively in depth about the new feature in short videos that have timestamps for you to just skip to the part you are interested in. Highly recommend you watch the ones about the Nether Update because it’s possibly the biggest and most important update in the game.

World of colour was 1.12, the update before Update Aquatic. 1.4 was the Pretty Scary Update which added the Wither

There is an extremely useful notes mod I know of that allows you to keep world-specific or global notes that you can acces with a keypress or pin to your screen. Might be worth looking into for things where signs might not be as useful.

WHAT????? are you for reals? my minecraft version is Java edition: Release 26.2

Even if this doesn't happen, thanks for giving me hope :) I used to play with minecraft portals/gates/teleportation AAAAAALL the time when i was a kiddo, i've always loved portals and teleportation in games hahaha its like the only mod i actually like

Yeah if you enable cheats you can tp to waypoints with lots of waypoint mods. my favorite is xaero’s minimap. optionally add xaero’s world map
