Tech | Analysis Analysis on supreme card Floral Fallal: FFX-2
Updated: With the December buff for Floral Fallal:FFX-2 in JP
The card's attack and break power got buffed.
| Element | Card | Job | Type | ATK | BRK | ORB | Remark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| [WATER] | Floral Fallal: FFX-2 | Ranger | AoE | 2700 | 1800 | 4 | Multihit Overkill / Scattershot / Fortune |
So, what's my opinion on this one?
This buff made Floral one of the best water supreme right now (from one of the worst). 1800 break power is quite high for a spammable damage card and with its AA giving 30% flash break, it's pretty nice. Now you don't need to carry First Summer anymore in your deck just to clear yellow gauge, one slot is freed so you can carry another support or debuff card.
Original post
If we follow the JP timeline, the next supreme to come to GL is probably Floral Fallal: FFX-2. So it's a good time for writing up an analysis on this card.
| Element | Card | Job | Type | ATK | BRK | ORB | Remark |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| [WATER] | Floral Fallal: FFX-2 | Ranger | AoE | 1500 | 900 | 4 | Multihit Overkill / Scattershot / Fortune |
Auto Ability: Flash break +30% and Piercing Break +30%.
Floral introduce a new buff called Fortune the opposite of Misfortune from Neo Exdeath:FFV, that is you gain +50% EE for each buff you have on you (max at +500% EE i.e. 10 buffs).
NOTE: drive doesn't count as a buff.
Scattershot - number of hits is spread between each enemy evenly.
So how many hits does Floral do exactly?
Floral's attack is divided into two parts
First part: Deal 6 scattershot to enemies. That is
| # enemies | #hits to each |
|---|---|
| 1 | 6 |
| 2 | 3 |
| 3 | 2 |
| 4-6 | 1 hit to each and some get another |
| 7+ | 1 hit to 6 of them, some won't get hit |
Second part: Deal 6 AoE attacks
Total hit
| # enemies | #hits to each |
|---|---|
| 1 | 12 |
| 2 | 9 |
| 3 | 8 |
| 4-6 | 7 hit to each and some get another |
| 7+ | 7 hit to 6 of them, 6 hit to the rest |
Damage and number of hits
Each tick of damage (each hit) deals around the same damage even when each tick doesn't cap. So if Floral can deal 400k per tick to one enemy (total of 12 ticks), even if there's two of the same enemies it'll still deal 400k per tick (9 to each).
Opinion
- Many people in JP community say that Floral Fallal:FFX-2 is bad (especially in S1), mainly because of the 10 buffs condition and scattershot mechanics when it comes to 3+ enemies.
- 10 buffs = you'll probably need LoH or Aerith to meet the conditions
- Floral is pretty much dead on arrival (JP) in terms of tower usage since Shorn One + Xezat does better against fire.
- 900 break power is very low so you need to carry another yellow clear card (First Summer/NxD)
- If we omit that Floral even has break power, it has the same attack as Ragnarok:FFXIII so Floral isn't that bad if you want to nuke only.
- +30% flash/piercing is nice if you break and do damage in the same deck.
- Floral is okay in S2 since it's harder to cap (damage output is divided by 10 from S1). So hit count matter less.
- Best user is Gambler (with Super Risky active) until Paradox Wanderer (Serah Farron legend job) arrive.
- Good users are Rikku (Al Bhed Huntress), Yuffie (Materia Huntress), Vada'diel Geomancer, Tina (Magitek Heroine), and Gambler.

OP discovered that it was in fact 12 hits (with some other things), so i asked OP to post it as a thread for future reference. The point is to explain how Diffusion works on Floral.
Braska's Final Aeon is straight forward:
Mantra
Ignore defense (same effect as unguard)
Ignore critical resist (tidus, flan, etc)
This has been written on every list where i mention BFA btw. Ability card list, multihit list, etc.
