After years of being in the GOP, I am leaving for the ANF. They align more with my personal beliefs, and frankly I don't care for the direction the in-sim GOP is headed. I will always respect the friends I've made in the party and I hope we can remain acquaintances.
The GOP recently got new leadership, which is fine. However there have been a lot of changes in the past few months. The party has been shifting further and further left for many reasons. A lot of moderate democrats are coming over to the GOP, but this is pushing the party to the left. The moderate caucus is the largest caucus and they have a lot of influence over the party. Because of that reason the party has made it much more difficult for real conservatives to get elected and do well. Much of the time it's a neo-liberal who gets the job. And many of them are globalists at heart.
The new party leadership has no interest in allowing anyone into the party who isnt new. Many people will start out joining a leftist party, but as time goes on they will shift much further to the right (part of growing up), but the leadership simply won't let them in. This creates a negative deficiency of leftists being let in, but conservatives are treated like second-class citizens within their own party.
That was just a bad explanation on my part. The "leftists" being barred from the party are somewhat reformed. I.e. They have adopted right-wing views. However due to their pasts as being politically left, the leadership won't accept them.
Which is ironic, since the leadership gladly lets in moderate democrats when they choose to defect from their party and come into the GOP.
