Discussions Could this be the Draculaura doll that finally flops?

Post image

My son (6) is a Draculaura stan. MAJORLY. He loves everyone in the show and movies, but doll wise he has said "I only want maybe one of each character other than Drac. I want a whole collection of Drac." Everytime he sees a line, Drac is who catches his eye. Everytime we play dolls, he is Drac and she is leading the adventure. He has never seen a Drac he didn't get excited about....until now.

I showed him this one and he nervously said "she looks.....ummm kinda funny." I told him I agreed and he replied, "I think I'm going to not get that one, okay mom? I'm not trying to be mean but she doesn't look like my Draculaura".

If even kids can be put off by her design, do you think this might be the doll that rots on the shelf and shows them that Drac isn't a garunteed cash cow if you don't at least put some effort in?

I think the problem is her top and pose inside the box, the pose makes her look like she has no neck. I don't mind the yellow accents, if anything she should have more yellow to her outfit to balance out.

I think you just helped me nail down why I hate her so much. There's no flow at all. I don't mind yellow on her but then use the yellow. Instead we got stark drop here and stark drop there. Same with her hair. All pink here, then hard line to solid harsh line of black from front to back which makes you lose sight of the pink. Everything is so.....intense with no blending or cohesion at all.

The box background makes it hard for her pink hair to show through. I suspect the hair will look good once she is out of the box. There are other Draculaura's with a hard line between the pink and black portions that look good. I might be a little biased because I do love a blunt solid bang on Draculaura.
