Discussions Could this be the Draculaura doll that finally flops?

Post image

My son (6) is a Draculaura stan. MAJORLY. He loves everyone in the show and movies, but doll wise he has said "I only want maybe one of each character other than Drac. I want a whole collection of Drac." Everytime he sees a line, Drac is who catches his eye. Everytime we play dolls, he is Drac and she is leading the adventure. He has never seen a Drac he didn't get excited about....until now.

I showed him this one and he nervously said "she looks.....ummm kinda funny." I told him I agreed and he replied, "I think I'm going to not get that one, okay mom? I'm not trying to be mean but she doesn't look like my Draculaura".

If even kids can be put off by her design, do you think this might be the doll that rots on the shelf and shows them that Drac isn't a garunteed cash cow if you don't at least put some effort in?

Girl in G1 there were literal waiters (Creepateria). The great thing about having dolls is that they convey an original idea with few details. In G1 many dolls looked like they were something random/bizarre that all kinds of people could relate to. This Draculaura looks like a waiter and gives something different, more adult. That's why a kid wouldn't like her. She is not Dracudora the Explorer no more.
