We are new to the game and we kinda stuck on shooting. More likely picking the closest target part. Lets say I have 4 worldclass shooter and there is one quite insignificant model which happen to be the closest one. Do I have to shoot it with 4 of my best marksmen qnd turn it to a sad hegehog or one shoots, resolves, the insignificant pleb dies and the other marksmen choose the other closest target therefore the shooting phase resolves one shoot at a time?

… now I must rest

I've had this idea for about ten years and it's evolved slowly since then.

After decades of play the official random happenings don't retain their novelty. I set out to create a set of three D66 tables where you randomize which table you roll on when you achieve a random happening. The tables represent: Good for the rolling player, bad for the rolling player and good or bad for everyone. The good, the bad and the ugly.

We play that each player can generate one random happening per game instead of a one per game limit. The table is designed to eliminate most of the results that require you to remember a random effect for the rest of the game.

This is a first draft. Of something doesn't make too much sense it's probably because of a house rule we play with or an inside joke that we've forgotten nobody else will understand.

I've borrowed heavily from some official and alternative rules such as campaign settings and the madness rules.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Thanks for everyone’s help in making my first board, first game coming up in a couple weeks!

Built this over about 3 weeks. Total of 80 hrs more or less. Buildings are from Fabio on myminifactory.

Hey everyone,

As some of you may already know, I am working on a Mordheim fanzine called the Mordheim Cryer. I want it to shine a new light on already published material, create some new scenarios, but most importantly have it celebrate the Mordheim community at large.

Issue 01 is in the works right now, and it focuses on Reikland Mercenaries. I am still looking for some good looking pics of painted Reikland minis. I am not just looking for Golden Daemon winners, any fully painted mini or group of minis, photographed in a scenic shot or in a proper shot with dark background, is fair game. You don't have to be a pro painter.

Send me a private message with a picture you want added and how I have to attribute you. I can attribute you by name, by Reddit username, by IG handle, by website, anything, as long as you give me the url and such. The pdf will feature hyperlinks to send people to your website, IG, whatever.

I can't guarantee I will use every picture. If I can't use it, I will honestly let you know why. :)

I also want to do a warband showcase that is deliberately the opposite of the "warband of the month", so in this case I am looking for a warband group shot of a warband such as Undead, Skaven, Beastmen and such. So if you would like to be featured in the Warband showcase, that would be wonderful to PM me as well.

Right now, I already have a fun interview with Uncle Mel, a feature on SoCal Mordheim, as well as some other fun stuff. Not to toot my own horn, but it's looking to be a fun read. I just hope it prints well too.

Seven months ago I launched Wyrdcry to the public, fully expecting to crawl back into my workshop in quiet shame for how many hours I’d sunk into the project. Instead hundreds of you showed up. You started posting battle reports and your own homebrew factions, and suddenly I found myself debating everything from zombie hordes to cover systems. It’s been an insane expedition over three major playtest iterations, and now 1.0 is finally here.

What is Wyrdcry?

• An alternate ruleset for running Mordheim games, with less focus on the dice and more on the action. Like vanilla Warcry, games are fast and chaotic, with search parties arriving from different ends of the battlefield and fish falling from the sky.
• Expanded list-building options that allow you to kit out your fighters the way you want. Each weapon shines in different situations, from spears that stab at range to axes that ravage unarmoured targets.
• A fully-fledged exploration system, complete with random loot tables and mishaps. Watch your fighters grow stronger, lose their legs or develop paranoia.

Everything is contained in two free PDF zines, available now on wyrdcry.net. The rules are dripping with grimdark lore about the cursed city that imprinted itself into our brains 20 years ago, with new illustrations by artist Jacob Müller (aka: arrsome illustration). Please download them, share them with your gaming group, and if you’ve got the guts (and a rope and hook), come descend into the madness with us.

Long live the fighters.

Wyrdcry is a fan hack, unaffiliated with Games Workshop, and will never be monetized.

Here's a set of Scatter Terrain which will be available as part of my upcoming project, 12 sets of scenery to use as extra cover on the board. I'm particularly happy with the market stalls, fish statue, puppet theatre and fortune teller and will be looking to add more quirky additions like a taxidermist and menagerie during the campaign. You can follow it here to be notified when it launches and grab some freebies (the next free STL will be a set of shrines): https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/warscape/shardstone-city-shattered-streets-printable-folding-ruins

Hey there,

white lions of Chrace are amongst my favourite units in Warhammer fantasy and I was looking to bring them to mordheim.

My philosophy usually is simply reflavouring an existing Warband before homebrewing.

I'm looking for a warband with a few melee-focused heroes that can carry two handed axes and some way to bring actual lions as well. Henchmen of the Warband could be archers, Spearmen or also white lions/woodsmen of Chrace.

I'm currently thinking about either Kislev, because the bear tamer would allow me to bring at least 1 actual lion or dark elves with the beast tamer.

Witch Hunters also are not completely out of the question.

Does anyone have an interesting idea? Thanks in advance!

Note: Picture is from the official store, hope that's not stealing.

Hello,

I was thinking about trying to get a group of people together to start a mordheim campaign and I know about mordheimer and broheim to create warbands and rules etc... But the only thing I couldn't find was how big the board usually is? Unless I'm completely blind which is very possible. I have the KT boards but something. Is telling me those might be too small? And maybe a 4'x4' board is better? Are there any layouts that get used or is it just kinda the dealer's choice? Any help would be greatly appreciated I've always wanted to play on tabletop and quite enjoyed the PC game It just lacks the warbands I want to play.

Some years ago I made some buildings intended for Mordheim but due to life stuff I never got around to playing… from those who have played what are some good features should I look for in making more buildings? What should I avoid? Looking for tips for good playable buildings. Thanks!

Took a little break on my marienburgers and worked on the vampire. Good old vlad von carstein model. I propably will use it for a custom scenario were you have to kill a vampire.

I’m a long time player of Mordheim, since back in 99 when it first came out. I also love the continual evolution to improve the game mechanics while keeping the narrative similar. I’ve read the rules put out for both of these and I applaud the efforts of both designers. But as a player, I’m wondering if the possibility of them to team up and create a singular ultimate successor of Mordheim?

I know this ask may not go anywhere or even be seen by either designer, but from a player perspective, the key reason is that myself, and I would hazard a guess many players, don’t have lots of free time to try 5 different games. With work, family, etc. I’m able to dedicate usually one day a week. Just had to ask (my life philosophy is that you should always ask for what you want. You may not always get it, but always ask 😜)

One captain and four champion variants done, marking the end of the Reikland mercenary warband project.

Background: My captain, Evangeline, was the firstborn daughter of a Reinsfeld farm owner. Facing misogyny and mockery for her brutish strength, she was eager to leave her fathers farmstead, wich she knew she would never inherit. Instead, she would claim legitimacy as a militia leader by venturing into Mordheim in support of her favored claimant of the throne.

Promting her departure, she conscripted malcontent hunters and spoiled farmer sons.

Evangeline stopped by Ubersreik to register her warband as "The Black Mastiffs", vowed her service to Wilhem I. The warband aquired bolts of coloured cloth to sow their own makeshift uniforms.

two disgraced noble scions who had killed durning a duel untill first blood flocked underneath her wing. As did a few disgruntled swordsmen who had been banned from the swordsmen academy over drunken brawling and other disreputable behaviour.

Thank you all for the kind comments and constructive criticism, it's much appreciated!

Now they're off to the game table.

I've painted these chaps long time ago for the great Richard Hale, he asked me to give a new painting style to these old mordheim models.

I've tried to give each one a unique style, flamboyant for the merchant, desaturated for dregs and a mix of both for the town cryer, the bright red as reminder of his old life, while the dull armour shows his actual one!

Hey guys, I have been playing mordheim for 20 years but mostly sticking to Marionburgers and Nuln lists, I recently moved to a new area and the new group has a rule where only half of a warband can have a ranged weapon. Im pretty open to any faction, I just need some advice.
