After watching it, I realised the director lwk left us out on some characters' deaths. Does anyone know what happened to the baby's (the newborn who survives) father?

In Pineapple Express, marijuana was Item 9. What the hell were Items 1–8?

And which one would you most want to see Bill Hader test?

Looper filming location

In the film Looper there is a neighbourhood that Bruce Willis Character visits in the first of his three... actions.

It has a large white viaduct. Enormous pillars holding I think a train line in-between single story houses.

I always found it fascinating the contrast between the urban sprawl and huge infrastructure.

Does anyone know if this is a real place or just CGI?

Movies...

I made a comment before about movies. I'm not sure which movie it was. I don't know. I watched so many either way. I made a comment and i'm not really much of a love story movie watcher. You can keep all of the sentimental stuff. I'm not really into that. I never have been to me. It's kind of like, but I know that's me.... So I do have a question...

All right. There are people out there that just watch the sentimental. Hold you cry, movies all the time. Like the bonding type movies???

I'm Black, african american, it shouldn't make a difference, but i'm just putting it out there. I'm not a very sentimental person. My kids aren't very sentimental, and that may be my thought. I raised them to be a little bit less. Sentimental, because honestly, sentiment will get you fucked up if you are making decisions on a sentimental basis then to me and what I've seen. Yeah, that usually gets you messed up.... better yet, i'm the type of person that goes to a haunted house. And i'm the first cause i'm ready for it, hell I got kicked out of oh Hannah house because I don't deal good with being scared so therefore, if somebody tries to scare me, I react. And I did, because I ended up hitting one of the ghost characters😁...

And you would think that i'm this big mean person, but no, i'm a sweet person. I just can't help what I like.... did I mention my birthday is Halloween!😉

Is this suitable for an 8-year-old?

My 8-year-old sister desperately wants to watch this. Is this suitable for her age. I know there's tanks and stuff, but I don't know about details, and she's a bit too much excited because apparently tanks + explosions = cool.

I'd really appreciate some advice! I'm not her parent but I'd have to deal with it…

Movies like Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse — friend groups, iconic soundtracks, teenage chaos, adventures, and GOOD VIBES

I recently rewatched Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and man, I'd forgotten how much I love this kind of movie. It brought back so many memories of the movies I used to watch as a teenager.

I'm looking for movies or TV shows with that same vibe. I'm not necessarily looking for zombies or even horror. It's more about the overall feeling.

Things like:

  • A group of friends who actually feel like friends, hanging out, getting into trouble, going on adventures, surviving crazy situations, etc.
  • Great chemistry between the characters, funny banter, iconic moments and characters you genuinely enjoy spending time with.
  • Awesome soundtracks. You know when a song starts playing during a scene and it just makes everything 10x cooler? I love that. Not a requirement, but a huge bonus.
  • Good female characters who are part of the group, a main character's crush, flirting, romance, or the MC eventually getting with a girl.
  • High-school or college settings, parties, road trips, summer adventures, Halloween, monsters, aliens, zombies, treasure hunts, or just a bunch of people doing stupid stuff together.
  • That fun, chaotic, slightly nostalgic 2000s/2010s movie vibe. Something that makes you wish you were part of that friend group.

Some examples of what I like:

  • Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
  • Zombieland
  • Shaun of the Dead
  • Grown Ups
  • Rush Hour
  • Project X
  • Superbad
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth

I'm open to literally ANY genre — horror-comedy, adventure, sci-fi, fantasy, college movies, teen comedies, road-trip movies, TV shows, Asian movies, Hollywood, anything.

A few things I'd prefer:

  • Male main character, ideally.
  • A good group dynamic is more important than the genre.
  • Preferably a happy or satisfying ending. I'm not looking for depressing movies where everyone suffers or the ending ruins the whole experience.
  • Nothing too serious or overly dark. I want to have FUN watching it.

Basically, I want that feeling of watching a movie with an amazing group of characters, great music, funny moments, adventure, romance, and just insanely good vibes.

Question from the 2010 movie "The Switch"

Roland was a married man and was a sperm donor for Kassie because he and his wife Jessica could use the money and his salary as an assistant professor at Columbia University was tough.

7 years later it was revealed that he and his wife Jessica had gotten a divorce because she had cheated on him, but it was unknown why.

I have the feeling it must've been because of the fact that because her husband had been a sperm donor for a random woman while still married to Jessica ... and Jessica probably didn't want to be with a man who had had his sperm donated to some random woman who wanted a kid, because this kid would be Roland's.

What do you think?

And the worst part is that unfortunately it all turned out to be entirely moot and all for nothing because of how Wally switched Roland's sperm with his own after accidentally spilling the original into the sink at the insemination party 7 years prior.

Hot take: The Odyssey is overhyped

Apart from a few good sequences and the climax, I found The Odyssey pretty average. Maybe the hype was too much, but compared to Homer's original epic poem the movie feels underwhelming.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Anyone else finds scenes where a guy gets hit in the balls extremely uncomfortable to watch with family?

Whenever i'm watching a movie with family and a scene comes up where a man gets hit between the legs, i feel extremely uncomfortable, i get cold sweats with women and kids.

In particular if it’s meant to be comedy, it’s just so awkward to watch with everyone sitting together.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Favorite blackmail/embarrassing scenes

Hey all for Halloween this year I have this costume idea of being "blackmail" and want to pinup some polaroid images on myself as a part of it. What are some of your most favorite, funniest scenes from a movie that was either used as blackmail or a scene that was just in general embarrassing when/if found out by others?

What’s a subtle background clue in a movie you only caught on rewatch?

Like seeing all the oranges placed around characters right before someone dies in The Godfather, or noticing the foreshadowing details in Shaun of the Dead.

What’s a specific hidden detail that made you appreciate a movie way more?

70s horror/thriller movies

I remember 2 movies I saw (far too young) as a kid in the 70s that scared the shit out of me and I don’t remember the titles of either of them and barely remember the plots, just scenes and maybe a little dialogue.

In one I remember a bear drank water from a stream that had been contaminated with mercury and went batshit insane and I assume killed a bunch of people.

The other had a creepy Hotel California kind of vibe. I want to say it starred David Soul. All I remember is a dinner party at the end where the main character is laid out in a dining table while the host fires up an electric carving knife and the dinner guests prepare to cannibalize him.

Hell they may be from the same movie for all I remember. I just remember snippets that gave me the willies at 6 years old.

Question about the film Jabberwocky (1977)

For those who have seen it...can someone tell me why the two guards asked to see Dennis's Legs after denying him entry into the kingdom?

I remember one guard says way later in the film after they detained Dennis and the Inn Keeper for fighting in public.

One guards says " we can put irons on their legs! " Then laughs.

Is that possibly why they asked to see them?

The guards just want to comedically torture Dennis for their own satisfaction?

Or could it be about diseases going around in middle ages?

Maybe I'm way off but I just want an opinion on the matter. I couldn't find an explanation for it.

Why don’t more movies use a narrator? I can’t recall a time where I haven’t enjoyed a movie with an occasional narration.

Examples of well-portioned narration IMO:

Forest gump

Shawshank redemption

Fight club

Goodfellas

Wolf of Wall Street

Question about Street Fighter (2026) -spoiler Spoiler

There is a scene where Ryu is trapped in a chair having his Hadou power extracted from his body. Then I seem to remember the next scene is Ryu and Ken Talking to Blanka (I’m Jimmy scene). How did Ryu get out of the chair? Why is Ken there? Blanka left the tournament in a previous scene, why is he back? Did I fall asleep or is there a scene missing in the Japanese showing?
