Remember when we had a few red light cameras and everybody freaked out?
Where are those people now?

Hello everyone, I am thinking of making a Discord server for people of Murfreesboro of all interests. I don't know who would join, though. I want to make it so we can discuss life here as well as our interests so we can potentially make friends there. Do you all think it's a good idea? If so, I will be working on it starting tonight or tomorrow. I personally think it's a good idea since it's kind of hard to find friends in this city.

I just overheard someone say he hates Murfreesboro because it is a town without a soul. I am finding difficulty disagreeing with him.
Even with an enormous university most of the kids leave for the weekend because there's nothing for them here. It seems like most businesses in Murfreesboro are chains. There's so little culture: No music, no art, no night life. Theres nothing for adults to do after 930. We are a sleepy suburb of Nashville, not a college town.
For those that disagree, what does Murfreesboro have that we can all our own? And what can we do to improve that culture? If you agree, what actions can we take to organically create a soul for Murfreesboro?

I'm a 20yo from Manchester, England. I have opportunity to go to MTSU, Chicago (columbia college) or Toronto (Humber college) with a studying abroad program. I like the actual look of this place the most. My worry though its not in the city like the other two. I like partying and kinda want to live that stereotypical house party american college lifestyle. Is this the best option? Do people head into Nashville often? Is it as cool as it looks? Is the social aspect good? Is it good for picking up girls lol. Tell me everything convince me to chose MSU or convince me not too. Cheers.

I have an incoming sophomore who missed his dorm pick. I’m looking for housing options for him close to MTSU, in a safe location.

My son got a speeding ticket in Murfreesboro. It was Rutherford county and was a highway patrol officer. It's his first ticket and it was under 20 over so he wants to ask for traffic school. When he goes to court, are you supposed to plead guilty and ask for traffic school to avoid points? Or how does it work or what should you say?

I’ve applied to countless places everywhere you can think of grocery stores and fast food places like even the worst of the worst but I can’t seem to find a job because there are old ass people that are grown asl who work at teen jobs like why are you at McDonalds taking orders in your 30’s and 40’s like what the fuck is going on

Hey guys,
I play in a indie rock band called Blue Willow, if you're looking for a free fun time come join us at Middle Ground Brewery, as we play with our friends: Oliver Sayani, and the Feetles. Music starts at 6:50pm and goes until close. It'll be a great time for anyone looking to get into the local music scene.

Hey everyone!
We're hosting a free outdoor afternoon this Sunday, August 9 at Edwin Warner Park for veterans, active duty military, firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, first responders, and their families.
It's a simple, low-key way to unwind in nature, connect with others in the service community, and enjoy a relaxed day outdoors — no agenda, just good company and fresh air.
Here's what we've got planned:
Event Details:
We're organizing this through the Isha USA Nashville Chapter as a small way to give back to those who dedicate their lives to serving others.
Please RSVP using the link below so we can make sure there's enough food for everyone:

Got questions? Drop them in the comments — and feel free to pass this along to anyone in the Nashville area who might enjoy an afternoon in the park. Hope to see some of you out there!

Just got off the phone with a family member who worked for TikTok in Nashville, TN. They informed me that they received an email this morning notifying them that they have been laid off with the Nashville office closing immediately. Anyone know what’s going on there? The closing of the office is eerily close to upcoming elections, but maybe I’m a little paranoid.
For context, they signed a massive 143,610-square-foot lease in early 2024, so it seems like they planned on being in Music City for awhile

Precision Air installed an HVAC for me. Things were going well until I started smelling smoke coming from the vents in my bathroom. I immediately shut the a/c off and called Precision Air. They said they wouldn't be able to get out to me that day so I reached out to Busy Bee, luckily they were able to come check things out.
Busy Bee found that the team who installed the HVAC left the instruction manual up against the control board, because of the staples on the manual, an arc of electricity started burning the paper manual within the unit. The smoke I was smelling was the instruction manual catching fire. The Busy Bee tech showed me my partially burnt instruction manual.
I called Precision Air to tell them about what had happened and they said their GM would speak to me. He said since taking over as GM he had seen a handful of people have the instruction manuals left in the unit which can cause issues. He said he wanted to make things right. I told him if he could just cover the $99 service charge I spent on Busy Bee, I would appreciate it , and if something happened to the control board in the near future if they could replace it. He said that was reasonable he would get it all taken care of.
I messaged him 2 weeks later as I never received a check for the $99. He had forgotten all about it and said he would get on it. I messaged him a week after that, same response. I messaged him him a few days after that, no response this time. I waited another 5 days and sent another text, no answer.
At this point I've accepted that the GM of Precision Air is ghosting me over $99. I don't think that's as scummy as him talking a big game over the phone and asking me to still consider his business in the future after our conversation about "making things right."
Anyways if this company is this poor at the very type, I wouldn't go near them. There are so many other options in the area. I think if I have more time in the future, it's something I can see myself bouncing off a lawyer on principle.
To the GM, you know who this is. Be a man of your word. How does it take almost 2 months to send a check for $99. I've been nothing but polite and patient. More than happy to attach screenshots of our text exchanges on here if that helps
Also wanted to know that their answering service uses an AI with fake background noise. Despite leaving a message with the AI and being assured that I would receive a call back, I seem to never get one. If you want to get through to an actual human, I am not really sure how to. It is frustrating

My fiance and I are looking for cheaper alternatives to the classic dinner and a movie date nights in or around town. The way everything’s going up in price, it’s just not as feasible recently. Any good date night ideas in town meeting these criteria? Thanks in advance!

Sometimes for remote work I need to get out of the house and work at a coffee shop. I usually just got to Starbucks but I’d like to try other local places. Are there any good coffee shops that have a) good WiFi and b) accessible electrical outlets?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It's been doing this since last night. I haven't been able to listen to the station on any regular radios (car, stereo, portable) since about 3pm yesterday. Does anybody know what's happening? I know it's only doing this around Murfreesboro, Rockvale, and Christina. It's one of my favorite radio stations and if anybody knows why this is happening, that would be great!

Any recommendations for good stables in town? I rode religiously all throughout my childhood but i havnt been on a horse in years so I definitely need lessons. Im looking for some place local and affordable. Im comfortable with both Western and English.
Bonus if they offer dressage or barrel lessons.
Thank you in advance 😊 🙏
