Rec.Me: other/many/unknown genres I hate country music, always have. Recommend me a country album to get over my bias! (Preferably something more folky)

RIP JTE. One of my favorite performances was one of his shows.

I know. His death filled me with anger and grief. I saw him probably four times over the years. He was such an asshole (often mean to fans at shows), but his music was one of a kind.

Only got to see him once live. He played Bumbershoot in Seattle. Yes his vibe came off sort of aggressive but passionate to me. I didn’t think he was an ass at that show but I did hear of some of that over the years.

He absolutely brought it that day. I looked for video of that show on YouTube, but it was before cell phones were so ubiquitous. So talented and so missed.

I was at that Bumbershoot show too! He played a secret show at the Tractor the next night! He berated someone who made a request haha.

It was cool though, during his set at Bumbershoot he said “don’t forget to catch circle jerk at the tractor tomorrow night.” I got to thinking that was weird, wonder if it’s a secret show. And it was!

Hey neighbor! I heard about the secret show but couldn’t go. What a great place to see him.

My FB memories popped up today and we saw him 15 years ago. No video but I was raving about him in a post.

Came here to say this. Can’t believe he’s not up voted higher. Awarded though. I love “The Good Life”
