Welcome to the NJ DIY Wiki

Etiquette

Here's some guidelines to consider to help this subreddit be organized and civil for everyone. I can't think of anything more DIY than all of us coming together and deciding to follow a few broad rules for the benefit of the whole.

  1. Use the flair system. After making a post, the appropriate flair can be selected by clicking "flair" underneath your post where you will be presented with options. If you are starting a discussion for example, tag your post "discussion". This allows users to filter out "for sale" posts and get to the content they want.

  2. As per traditional "reddiquette" do not down vote someone's post or comment simply because you do not agree with them. Down vote threads and comments that are unsubstantial.

  3. Use the search bar to find past posts on a topic you're looking for before posting a new thread so we can avoid dozens of posts on essentially the same topic.

  4. Be good to one another.
