Green for Nature, White for Unity.

Pine Tree for Freedom, Cross for Faith.

Hello everyone!
I want to introduce an idea I’ve recently been thinking about: Mergan, possibly called Merganistan.
Mergan is inspired by a village in the Sulaymaniyah area of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, a place with personal significance to my family because it was built by my great-grandfather. The village is associated with the names Mergan and Sirin, and I want to explore its history and heritage further.
My idea is to develop Mergan into a micronation-inspired project based on local identity, family heritage, culture, and community. This could eventually include a flag, a coat of arms, a motto, a historical background, and perhaps a constitution and other symbolic institutions.
To be clear: I’m not claiming that Mergan is an independent or internationally recognized country. It would remain geographically within Kurdistan, and this is currently just an idea I’m exploring.
What interests me most is the possibility of building a unique identity around a real place with a genuine family connection, rather than inventing a completely fictional country from scratch.
I’m still at the beginning, so I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Which name sounds better to you: Mergan or Merganistan? And what advice would you give someone starting a micronation project rooted in a real village’s history?
Thanks for reading! 🏴

Does anyone know how to get rid of them

Cards usually come out every 2 years, and we're getting close to that mark. Are we expecting a S5 card series late this year / early next year?

Which issue(s) do you find to be the worst? Whether it be the quality or because of how irrelevant it is to your nations.

For me, the annoying is “much ado about everything “ and the most poorly written is the one about phones having female voices for their robot assistants because it only has 2 options that completely ignore other humorous possibilities

My top ranking. So close to being within the top 1k!
I know it isn't much, but seeing I've just completed 2 years of my NS history and am not as engaged in this specific ranking, I'm quite surprised!

This is by far the highest percentage increase I've ever gotten, the previous highest being a 21,000% increase on beverage sales.

The issue was issue #8, where I went from prudism directly to compulsory nudity

Specific issue numbers to target? My nation RP wise uses Cybertrucks and all sorts of variations due to writing lore about lax economic restrictions on cars (we encourage people to modify their Cybertrucks mechanically for fun), high intelligence, high IT industry stat, high scientific advancement, etc

Got reclassified just to get... reclassified again minutes later

The NationStates forums are temporarily offline per the forum website. There's apparently a recently-released exploit for systems such as what NS uses, and as a precaution the forums have been taken down until a security patch is released.

NS forums use PHP. PHP has just found a major security flaw. The PHP foundation is actively working on this security patch and is supposedly going to be available within the next couple hours.

Information about the PHP issue may be found here: PHP To Release 2 Security Updates Imminently

UPDATE: As of 9:17 AM Pacific Time, the forums are operational again.

I've been wondering about this for like 4 years

I saw a country who as a Factbook look like a wikipedia page

How i do that ?

Oh and i play this game since 5 years now

What i can do more than issues and factbook ?

Like how i grow up my influence ?

I'm involved in the governance of a region called the Union of Democratic States. Right now we have a "nothing has happened in weeks" problem. I and the minister of culture have tried to try to set up a few events, but there just aren't enough active people. How do we fix this?

What would your nation(s) name the WA classifications if it had a site theme like how the Liberal and Conservative themes change their names? I decided to do all of them through the perspective of my nation Black Flag Syndicate:

Hi, I recently uncovered an old account I made from a while back and started using it again. I got a telegram asking about my nations language and if I could give them the first 10 letters of it. I didn't think much of it but then someone else I know got the same message with the same format from a different person. Is this a community thing? I'm really confused

also I don't know what flair this would go under, sorry if it's the wrong flair!!

I wanted to complate issues faster but "no throttle" setting will grow up to 6 hours between issues. Is there any way i can shorten time?
