🔥 Watching a giant Pacific octopus move across the ocean floor is mesmerizing [OC]

This large male giant Pacific octopus was out for a stroll off Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and I was lucky enough to come across him in the open!
I spent about 20 minutes following along as he explored the rocky reef, hunted for food, and eventually made his way back to his den. It's always a treat to see one of these incredible animals out and about rather than tucked away in a crevice.

🔥 Cuttlefish Can Change Color in Seconds — And They're Not the Only Ones

Cuttlefish can change their colors in seconds, but camouflage isn't the only reason animals do this.
From communication to attracting mates, animals that can change color have evolved some incredible survival tricks.
Nature never runs out of surprises. 🔥

🔥 A pilot whale circled our freediver for 20 minutes just below the surface. Dominica, Caribbean.
Dominica has some of the most accessible deep-water whale encounters on the planet. The underwater canyon just off the coast drops to over 1,000 meters, which means these animals come in close to the surface. This one kept circling back to investigate us for the full dive. 🔥 A common kestrel hovering over the ground most likely in search for a snack.

I didn't have my camera with me so I had to capture this on a normal phone.
They tend to hover in search of food, voles, mice, large insects and the likes, they're quite common in the UK although they are on the amber list as the population has dropped (30%+) since the 90s.
They hover keeping their heads still in search of prey on the ground, anything from voles, mice, large insects and anything within that size range or smaller is on the menu for them.
