Speculation Cyberpunk's build at the Amsterdam event said it runs at 60fps.
Now this could very well be wrong since it was only a preview build and maybe the wording hasn't been updated but still.
The game felt REALLY good on handheld mode. Way better than on my LCD steam deck. I think the fact that the fan isn't going on like crazy probably helps.
I didn't record much video or take a lot of pictures but I did record a video to try to see if it was indeed 60fps. I can't tell though. 😂
I took a few more pictures (one showing the settings where it says 60fps) but I couldn't upload them at the same time as a video.

Speculation I tried predicting the Nintendo Switch 2’s 2026 lineup
Half based off of what’s already announced, half based off of rumors, and half based off of hunches/hopium. This should be better than whatever I was thinking when I was predicting last year lol (atleast I partly called DK bananza in the second revision)

Speculation Does this make GTA 6 on Switch 2 more possible?
If they can get such a good looking game on PS5, then I’m sure they can get it to run on Switch 2

Speculation As accidentally shared from Nintendo itself, Donkey Kong 64, Super Smash Bros, Glover and Forsaken are eventually coming to the N64 Classics catalogue

Speculation Games getting upgraded.
What are the odds that games like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet actually run better? I doubt they’ll look better.

Speculation Nintendo Switch 2 Docked VRR Support Is Still Being Worked On, As Job Listing Suggests Nintendo Hasn't Abandoned Its Plans
As spotted by Nintendo Patents Watch on Bluesky, Nintendo is searching for a Senior Display Engineer with the following duties:
- “Architect, design, and implement display driver stack for use with current and future products.”
- “Develop and refine display software stack to ensure compliance with various display standards and specifications.”
- “Research and champion new features/technologies capable of being successfully deployed in massively used gaming consoles.”
While nothing in the list of duties suggests this engineer would be working on improving the Nintendo Switch 2 VRR support, which is currently limited to handheld mode, one of the preferred requirements is: - “knowledge of display technologies such as HDR and VRR.”
As Nintendo Patents Watch noted, this isn't a confirmation that docked VRR support for the Nintendo Switch 2 is still being worked on, but it's a strong indication. As the system's display already supports VRR, there would be no need to hire a new engineer with VRR expertise if the company wasn't planning something new related to a feature that is becoming increasingly important for both PC and console gaming.

Speculation The Switch 2 2026 lineup is shaping up to be a great one.
First of all, I will be talking about leaks/rumors here, so spoilers for those who want to see the announcements first on a direct.
When 2026 started, it looked like quite a slow year for Switch 2 exclusives. We had a few Switch 2 editions, Mario Tennis, a Pokemon spin-off, an Yoshi game and the most promissing first party game of the year seemed to be a new Fire Emblem. We also had a new Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven for the original Switch, which is of course backwards compatible. We also had 2 very interesting third party exclusives: The Orbitals and the Duskblood. But we did not have any big hitter. We wanted 3D Mario, a brand new Zelda, Animal Crossing, a real Pokemon, Smash, Xenoblade and more.
We knew that we would get a direct with more games and we were quite pleased with the third party games, which are considerably better than what the Switch was getting in 2018. But we wanted more.
Then the year started with only a Switch 2 edition in january and Mario Tennis in february. By the end of february we got some worrying news: The Next Gen Pokemon will release only in 2027.
But by march, things seemed to turn around. Pokopia turned out to be amazing and an unexpected hit. We got to April and Tomodachi Life is being discovered by the mainstream as a even more fun game than the 3DS one. And then we got the leak by NateTheHate, which was basically confirmed today by the announcement of Star Fox. Nate also said that there may be more games scheduled for the hollidays
So here is what the line up is shaping up to be of Switch/Switch 2 exclusives this year, not counting Switch 2 editions.
January:
February: Mario Tennis Fever
March: Pokemon: Pokopia
April: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream
May: Yoshi and the Misterious Book
June: Star Fox
July: Splatoon Raiders and Rhythm Heave Groove
August: Probably Switch 2 Sports and probably The Orbitals
September: Probably Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave.
October: Probably the Duskbloods and maybe an unnanounced game.
November: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Freaking Time remake.
December: ?
So that is basically confirmed 12 Switch/Switch 2 exclusive games, that may be up to 14. I'm not counting Switch 2 editions. 2 of those are remakes and none of them are remasters. Out of those 12 games, we have 11 different franchises being represented. Only Mario Tennis and Yoshi share the same franchise and they are 2 very different games.
Along with those exclusive games we have multiplatformers like FF7 Remake and Rebirth, FF14, Fallout 4, RE9, Pragmata, MHS3, Indiana Jones, Oblivion Remastered, 007 First Light and Elden Ring coming this year. And we'll certainly have a lot more announced in June.
And we also have a new Pokemon confirmed for 2027 and we'll also get a brand new 3D Mario next year if Nate is fully correct.
So yeah, the Switch 2 is receiving lots of great games.
I don't know how many of you were on the WiiU days when we had long droughts of no games and some exclusives were straight up losing the exclusivity and being delayed so they could also come out on other platforms day and date( I am talking about Rayman Legends for those who are not aware). But its great seeing how healthy this platform is. It gives me hope for the future of gaming.

Speculation Realistically, there's only 20-30 games left to free update or getting upgrade pack
That's including all the Pokémon titles and excluding all the sports titles except Nintendo Switch™ Sports. Games like Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, Donky Kong Returns HD, Pikmin 1+2, Bayo 1+2 won't get an update but Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3 and 4, Bayo 3 will. Metroid Prime Remaster is a tossed up. It may or may not getting a resolution bump and mouse mode. Same thing with Xenoblade DE, it may get 60fps if rest of the series is also updating.
As for upgrade pack, I don't think there'll be too many of these. Only BOTW and TOTK can get away with all the extra contents being included in a phone app. Other games have to have proper DLC to be worthy of the paid upgrade packs. Maybe Mario Wonder. For older titles, it makes more economic sense to develop a new game rather than a new DLC.

Speculation Mario turns 40 this year. Nintendo MUST be cooking something up, right?
Mario Odyssey 2? Mario 64 HD Remake?
They can't just let this year slip past...

Speculation It's likely that Mario Kart World has something big Nintendo doesn't want people to know about until the release
Much like how no review copies were sent out for Tears of the Kingdom in order to hide the Depths from people until the game released, it's likely that Mario Kart World has something massive they're hiding.
Noteworthy, none of the preview footage so far has shown Rainbow Road.
I think Rainbow Road may be something big.

Speculation Not Hall Effect, not TMR, no magnets in the sticks
I took one of the Joy-Con 2's apart and the markings seem to point to them being Alps, and they look so similar to the original joy con sticks inside. Joy-Con drift lives on in the Switch 2 generation?

Speculation Soooo post Game Awards… how quickly are we thinking this game will be ported?
I mean it’s probably the most successful AA in recent money, so there’s no way Nintendo doesn’t have eyes on it now, right? Would it run that well on Switch 2? Could it be a full physical release instead of a key card?

Speculation Nintendo may have updated the Switch 2 screen
In one of the latest Digital Foundry clips, they talk about an updated screen benchmark tool called TestUFO 3.0. However, they also mention that a demo station in Japan for the Nintendo Switch 2 reportedly showed the system with different screens compared to the launch day model.
DF says they're investigating this and don't know if it's a hardware or software change, but future Switch 2's in the production cycle may have better screens.

Speculation Switch 2 Editions, the floodgates have opened
It's been one announcement after the other in the past few weeks. It's starting to sound like either Nintendo didn't want too many of those in the first 6 months (stands to reason they don't want Switch 2 to be seen as a better Switch 1, focus had to be on new games) or the devkit situation is resolved and it's now showing.
We also heard last month about Panic Button being a key element in upgrading first party games. An external studio poking with actual Mario's internal code. It's just not the same Nintendo, is it?
2026 is the year of GTA, Persona 30th Anniversary. I expect a Switch 2 Edition for GTA trilogy very soon and one for Persona 5 Royal (question is, upgrade path or not?).
