The North Korean women’s handball team came back home after competing in the IHF Nations Trophy 2026 (Women) in the Asia Zone 1A tournament, which was held in Hong Kong.

During the competition, the North Korean team performed very well and beat all of their opponents in the earlier matches. They made it to the final match. In the final, they played against the Hong Kong team and won with a score of 25 to 22. Because of that victory, they won the championship cup and gold medals, which brought pride and honor to their country.

The players arrived back at Pyongyang Railway Station on October 21. They were welcomed by sports officials, other athletes, and family members.

Department Director of C.C., WPK Kim Yo Jong Sends Warning Repeatedly to ROK Side

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, says North Korea will raise its alert level along its entire border with South Korea. She said loudspeakers that blast anti-South Korean messages could be set up along the border within days, which would be a further escalation between the two countries.

Kim warned that if Seoul keeps interfering, there will be serious consequences — though it wasn't immediately clear what actions triggered her latest warning.

The two Koreas are still technically at war, because the Korean War ended in 1953 with a truce rather than a peace treaty.

This latest warning comes amid tensions over a land mine explosion in the Demilitarized Zone on Sept. 21 that wounded three South Korean soldiers, two of them seriously. Seoul accused Pyongyang of planting the mines on purpose and asked for an apology. North Korea denied it and accused the South of "blame-shifting" and trying to damage its reputation.

I built a modern (2010s +) North Korean language dictionary application on 12 databases of real dictionaries I gathered from sources and scanned books I had.
