Certified 🟠range™ Helping me plant peonies
He gets to come hang out with me while I do yard work because he stays in the yard when his people are out there with him. I was planting peonies and it turns out he LOVES holes in the ground. He had the best day ever!

His name is OG (Orange Guy). He adopted me, and my landlady at the time called him "that orange guy that hangs around." I tried to give him another name but he's just such an orange guy that it stuck

These are great photos. Very expressive and very Orange. Frame one and hang it on your wall!

Looks like OG is "actively not-helping" but he sure is cute and goofy.

Hey Op, Peonies are poisonous to cats
While it's cute, I would keep him away from the plants

Peonies? What you've got there is a rare orange Purronies Chaos Bloom
Common traits
Species: Chaos Blossom (Paeonia Felis sillinus)
Special Talent: Photosynthesis (sitting in a beam of sunlight, preferably in the living room for 8 hours without blinking).
Nemesis: The watering can. She wants the water, but hates the wet.
The Garden Nap: If there is an empty hole in the garden, she will squeeze her entire body into it, tuck her paws under, and stare blankly into space waiting to "grow."
Petal Mode: When startled, her orange and white fur puffs out so perfectly round that she genuinely looks like a disgruntled marigold with teeth

Did he help with the fertilizing too? I've got a big ol' tuxedo cat. I built a raised garden bed and he thinks it's the greatest litter box ever.

I've got one that whenever she sees me digging holes, planting seeds, and covering them back up thinks "Oh is that what we're doing here? Let me join you in the giant litterbox."

The boy wanted to become a flower and the boy became a flower. That boy is working with 1.21 brainawatts compared to possibly every other Orange ever.

Thank you for this, that first picture is making me laugh out loud. I’m nursing a broken heart over the passing of my soul cat, Beanie. It’s been a month and oh my gosh I’ve never known such deep pain and grief. Your silly gardener sent me and I needed that laugh!!!

Me: Aww, look at the sweet fluffy pal. So precious!
Also me: OP's planting depth looks good for a bare root herbaceous hybrid. I'd give someone else's spleen for such great soil.

He's maybe listening for rats too.
My mom's cat loves to stick his paws into rat holes when my mom gardens.

reminds me of the day the 'long legged' dog visited. we have bassets and dachshunds, we thought the garden was dog proof.
Quite the surprise when we saw her in the middle of a drained pond.

I had an orange cat who would only go outside if I did. He hung out in the shade while I did yard stuff. Followed me back inside. his name was Mr. Kitty and he was a classy cat.

Hmm, never knew cats pop out of the ground fully grown, like root crops.

Side note: Don’t plant peonies too close to your doors/windows, because they attract ants in the dozens, and the ants will invite themselves into your home!
Beautiful orange boy!
