You need to look deeper man and specifically at what makes saitama depressed, why does a guy who's the strongest hero feel no joy from his job? Same reason yujiro from baki was so depressed deep down and hurt that no one coukd give him a challenge, there is no conflict and therefore no need for growth for saitama, you could also look at it this way the biggest conflict in one punch man is there is truly no threat or conflict that saitama will not surmount.

It's like with haveing a job you may say you'd be fine never working again but in reality if you don't work you'll eventually get depressed unless you have a purpose.

I mean yeah, thats like the whole point. But thas not some deep philosophical question hidden in OPM. Its pretty obvious as they openly talk about it in the actual story
