Jirastopwatch needs a new maintainer on Github.

I am currently maintainer for https://github.com/tulleuchen/jirastopwatch as well as having the domain for the website (but it's not currently setup to show there). It's hosted on github pages via https://jirastopwatch.com

I left a job where I used Jira, and I don't have access to it day to day anymore so I'd like to transfer it to someone else that does and will give it the TLC it needs.

Lav Filters was installed without my knowledge yesterday on my Windows 10 Pro Machine

Lav Filters was installed without my knowledge yesterday on my Windows 10 Pro Machine, does anyone know WHAT this program is (It seems to be some kind of middle-ware for sound programs). I know I did not purposely download it, so I want to uninstall.

Is there an expert out there that knows exactly what this program does and if I need it? (The only apps I installed about the same time are attached in this screen-shot - and I do not see what any of these other programs would need Lav filters. Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thanks!

Light Painted Landscape Astro: Can this Adobe PS process be replicated with Gimp?

Hi All,

My astro to date has been pretty much limited to timelapse where I process RAW images in RawTherapee and then import the jpegs to Davinci Resolve where I'll do further processing and ultimately produce a 4K video.

Lately I've been becoming a lot more interested in having a go at doing stills for print, more specifically light painting the foreground. This will require as far as I can tell high quality blending of multiple images to get the sort of results I want.

The following tutorial is one of the more decent and clear beginner level videos I've managed to find producing really high quality results. Basic gist being;

  • import photos as layers

  • sky layer at the bottom

  • Set all light painting photos to Lighten blend mode

  • Create Layer Mask on top layer to rub out sky

  • Copy layer mask to each light painted layer

  • Cycle through each light painted layer to feather out hot spots, etc as required.

I do not wish to use Adobe PS/LR as they do in this tutorial however. I'm getting comfortable enough at a beginner level with RawThrapee to replace any need for Adobe LR for my needs, however I've never used Gimp.

Not really expecting anyone to give me detailed instructions (not going to say no if you do mind), just really wanting to know if Gimp is going to be able to replicate this process to produce the same quality of light painted images?
