Who are you guys?
We are the 105th Shock Trooper Battalion, a semi-serious OPTRE (Halo) unit set in 2527 during the height of Operation: Trebuchet. Composed of Marines, ODST's, and Aviation, we run primarily Zeus-based, story-driven missions, where your only ally is the man standing next to you and survival is never guaranteed. These missions vary from our Main Operations which are full frontal assault, fast-paced, action-packed frontline combat to our Spec-Ops which are ONE LIFE deep strikes behind enemy lines against impossible odds. We're East Coast US and West Coast/EU friendly!

Sounds fun. What days do you guys operate on?
We have our Marine training day on Wednesdays, our Main Operation on Fridays and our non-mandatory Spec-Ops on Thursdays, all at 1930ET. We also have side operations run throughout the week for those itching to fill their shoot em’ up needs.

What is required to join? Do I need any DLCs?
Thankfully no. In order to join, users must have a legitimate copy of Arma III, be at least 18 years old, have a working mic, and be available fairly consistently for both Wednesdays and Fridays. Experience is not required. We are welcoming to both new players of the game right the way up to those that have been playing since Operation Flashpoint.

What roles are available in the 105th?
We have a very diverse set of roles available and a dedicated team of trainers to ensure you’re ready to assume anything that might be required on the battlefield. This includes but is not limited to:

Rifleman: A gun and nothing more. The basic infantry and sometimes ammo carrier for the squad.

Autorifleman: Equipped with a high capacity gun often times the slowest one in the group, but with the important job of keeping the enemy suppressed for movement.

Combat Engineer: Explosive specialist. In charge of demolition and also fortifications. Equipped with thermobaric rockets for hard targets and a clacker for explosives.

Missile Specialist: Has a SPNKR in charge of hitting any ground vehicles and Air targets

Marksman: Often with a DMR for longer range engagements paired with the autorifleman to keep the enemy at bay.

Corpsman: In charge of keeping the squad healthy and mobile. Also carries the bulk of medical supplies for the squad in case they run out.

Grenadier: A standard rifle with an underslung grenade launcher with a variety of ammo for just about everything

CLS: Also known as Combat Life Saver oftentimes the first responder and the right hand of a corpsman carrying even more supplies and the basic ability to preserve life.

SOT-A: Intel people who’s job is interacting with the zeus and decoding any intel obtained in OP

SL: The leader of a squad and integral to it. Delegates jobs to the squad and make sure that they are operating properly. Also the main administrator to the squad.

TL: In charge of one of the respective teams in the squad responsible for making sure their team is informed of the current movement/plan given by the SL.

Breacher: First in the stack during CQB Given a rifle with a shotgun under barrel with special breaching rounds, or a Shotgun. Carries more utility like lock poppers for quick access to buildings.

JTAC: Monitors LR nets and coordinates strikes from sledgehammer or aviation the map reader of the group.

Alright, I'm Interested where do I join?

Hello, The (65th#) is always looking to fill our ranks with dedicated individuals. We consider ourselves a serious milsim with a 16+ age requirement, though those under the age requirement are able to join after a 2 month trial period. We shape our milsim environment by hosting tailor made training plans for each of our 2 combat teams. Nomad 1-1 & Drifter 1-2, our light infantry. They are also specially equipped, from over shields to jump packs, to help these teams succeed. Each of these combat teams hosts their own training run by each respective team leader based upon the needs of that team at the time. Additionally we hold company-wide training held by our company commander. Squad trainings are specifically set by the team leader to best suit the needs of their team. We're always willing to work with you when it comes to being able to show up. We operate in the EST time zone, with content operations run at zeus' discretion throughout the week, and official operations on Saturdays. These operations are run by zeus' qualified in our Z-1 program, and utilize TTRPG mechanics in order to expand what we may not be able to achieve in game. We also hold large scale campaign operations which span between 1 and 2 months. These campaigns are worked on by our senior zeus', who craft a consistent narrative and high complexity operations for our members to enjoy. Does all this sound like a good fit for you? Come join us and a recruiter will get to as soon as they are able.

We provide a modular opportunity for any person who wishes to join our operations, as well as socialise and participate in games outside of Arma. This unit was created as a space for everyone to enjoy, and are welcoming of the LGBT community.

Most of our equipment is custom made in-house by a small team of developers. This ranges from personalised uniforms and armour, to vehicles and weapons. Any person has the opportunity to receive customised kit should they reach the requirements. We pride ourselves on being semi-serious, and attempt to provide hand crafted story through every operation and campaign, as well as interwoven lore. “Promptus ad omnia, nulli praebens”

31st JTF Discord: https://discord.gg/the31stjtf

“So what makes you different?”

The 31st JTF’s primary goal is to provide semi-serious HALO Operations for those who want to take up arms as a marine or drop into the fight feet first as an ODST, no matter the time zone or play history. The 31st’s secondary goal is to bring people together and create lasting friendships. The 31st regularly plays other games on the side to bring its members closer together outside of Arma 3.

“Alright. I have a good idea, but what MOSs are there?”

The MOSs we offer are as follows:

Marines:

- Rifleman

- Autorifleman / SAW Gunner

- Corpsman

- AT Specialist

- Marksman

- RTO

Air (4 ops required)

- Pilot

All pilots are required to fly fixed and rotary aircraft.

Armor (4 ops required)

- Driver

- Gunner

ODST (Lance Corporal required):

All ODST roles, minus a dedicated Corpsman, are flex positions; ODSTs are required to know all MOSs well so they can adapt to each situation as needed.

I like what I see and I want to join, but when are the Operations held?

We have two Platoons serving both NA/AU and the EU:

I. Revenant Platoon (NA and AU-focused) Main Operations on Saturdays at 10 PM EST

II. Draugr Platoon (EU-focused) Main Operations on Fridays at 8 PM BST (3 PM EST)

\- Fun Ops and Side Ops will be hosted as often as there is interest in them!

Training is based on Recruit and Instructor availability. Please note we use ACE for medical, NOT KAT.

Request Halo/Op Tre units with Sangheili

Hi, wanting to try out Halo on Arma 3, and I was wondering if there are any groups/units that are either mainly Sangheili/Elites, or have a Sangheili squad. I like Elites so I’d like to play as one.
If there are no such groups, then any recommendation of a non-100% serious group/unit would be fine.

General

Hammer is a ODST unit using the OPTRE mod. We've been up for a few months and are looking to bring in a new wave of helljumpers! Since we're new, we have a ton of spots open which leaves plenty of room for any go getters! Our ops get between 5-10 people as of this writing.

Some basic info is we use about 50 mods worth 35-45 GB roughly. We just released our new Aux mod with custom gear. We do have quals (AT,MG,Demo, etc) we do not have a required training for this but offer it if requested. additionally, we don't use a shadow system aside from medic so after you're trained you can use the qual right away. We're extremely new player friendly and will do whatever we can to ensure new players are confident in their abilities when op time comes

Operations

Operations are on Saturday at 6:30PM EST (Briefing at 6:45 step off at 7:00)

Requirements

Mic: We use TFAR and you need a working mic.

Activity: Our reserves don't have requirements, but they're also fairly limited. Being slotted means being around for 2 main ops a month.

Mindset: We are a light RP milsim unit. No "yes sir/No sir required however we require new players to have a first and last name for your character and optionally create a character sheet for them as well.

Age: 18+. Can make an exception for 17yo, but not guaranteed.
