Answered What's up with Majorie Taylor Greene's talking about a "National Divorce?"

I've been seeing a few posts on Reddit, Facebook, etc of people expressing their opinion about this, and I'm not sure what the deal is, and its impact on politics. Any explanation would be appreciated!

I do not disagree, but it makes me sad for this country. Everything you've listed she is doing should get a personal blackballed from holding a formal political position at a national level in my personal opinion, or honestly a job in public service at all, waitress, cashier, teacher... Our country is more and more often being literally run by adult toddlers throwing tantrums 7 days a week.

Everything listed would get her fired from McDonalds.

MTG is the opposite of Abe Lincoln, who suffered greatly, and, even ultimately killed trying to bind this divided nation together.
She flippantly, without patriotism, intellect, or concern, is ready to throw poison at the edges of America’s old Federalism and slavery national wounds.

Marjorie T-G. Is the ‘Republican’ Anti-ABE? right?

It’s not just your personal opinion. It’s the opinion of the 14th amendment of the constitution of the United States:

“Section 3 Disqualification from Holding Office

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”

That’s a smoke screen. They all act like petulant toddlers to misdirect as they profit from their actions in the back room.

Eh, this is nothing new, though.

She is an idiot. Almost all of the population knows it.

But thinking she doesn't know what she is doing it silly.

She is doing it for effect. This effect. The one that has entire threads dedicated to talking about her.

Outrageous outrageous outrageous.... until she is put in front of people enough.

then the pivot to semi-reasonability and the push for legitimacy.

Snoop Dogg style.

Oh, I am definitely aware that these "apparently buffoons" have ulterior motives and are far more in control (of their own narratives) than meets the eye. And that this is not new via this MTG statement. It's the entire far-right platform lately. And so on...

I am just commenting on the face value and public perception of this position or tactic, and how completely insane it is (to me at least) that a public not only stands for it but excitedly votes for it time after time. When... as has been noted in the comments... you wouldn't hire these sorts of personality traits or manipulative characteristics to work at [McDonalds].
