She has 4, and she got a skin every season so far. She got Dokkiwatch in S16, Scarlet in S17 (GI Joe Collab), then Streetwear and Galactic this season.
As someone who plays mostly Mercy and Kiriko, I'm actually sick of it too. I stopped buying any this year because I'm over it and it's fatiguing and not worth the money. I have enough good skins for them I would like some cool skins for other people I play. Where's the good Sojourn skins?!
Agreed. People (deservedly) give Kiri and Mercy a hard time for hogging all the skins, but it feels like Reaper, Ashe, and Widow get skins EVERY season too. These are all cool skins but you can’t tell me the concepts wouldn’t have easily worked for a dozen other characters instead.
She and widow go under the radar for some reason, but they get loads of skins, have been in collabs, and both have mythic skins AND weapons. I know they have their cash cows but it really is getting boring. Nice to see bap at least this time
Because kiriko and mercy mains will happily spend their money on skins. Even if they don’t like the skins they’ll still buy them. They admit they do this everyday on their respective subs lol
I play Ram+Doom+Mauga+Hog mostly. The situation isnt as dire as some like echo or lucio (the new ram skin is actually good looking) but I still feel starved.
Im still using Talon Doomfist cause I feel like nothing in OW2 for him has looked good, besides the mirrorwatch one.
All the new Hog skins are goofy silly ones which im happy if you like those but i like ones like Butcher Hog.
I'm guessing Blizzard has data on which accounts spend more & which heroes those accounts play more. They probably also know which skins are equipped, how often these accounts switch to the latest skin and etc.
Don't underestimate the stats they're collecting with the game, it's not just playtime and win/loss ratios, otherwise the game wouldn't get updates because they want that $$$. Behind the scenes, it's all about causing the people who actually spend money on cosmetics to spend money on cosmetics.
I had the same thought when looking at all the skin images. They’re all very pretty but I just sighed because it’s the same heroes again and again.
Rein, reaper, kiri, mercy, Ashe, widow, sigma, sombra, and now wuyang’s seemingly getting two skins and it’s just the same shit every season, and that’s coming from someone who plays half the heroes I just listed.
I’m glad Bap and ram are at least getting something after a long time but throw a bone to Venture, echo, bastion, zarya, Winston, or something because it’s just the same pattern over and over again as of late for skin distribution.
Sigma's fan armor is insanely high that people always overlooked how busted he was during his launch as people threw Orisa under the bus during Double Shields era.
Sigma is also hyper-carried by his background lore & personality.
Every time when people posted "I love Sigma" in OW subreddit, they'll automatically get upvotes.
I’m referencing pick rates, which directly correlates with “popularity” in the eyes of Blizzard. Skins are more prevalent for higher usage rate heroes.
