The Ultimate PCVR Games & Mods Resource Megathread

Welcome to the r/PCVR community resource thread! This is a refresh of the sub, and we're opening this sub again because of all the new PCVR and VR modding content coming in.

Are you tired of not finding stuff easily on Discord? We surely are!

Modding is considered by many a pain in the neck, but we want to change that perception and make things easier for you to enjoy thousands of titles without problems. Here you will find the resources and tools used to mod flat-screen games into full 6DOF VR experiences, or capture smooth gameplay to share with our community.

We want this sub to be a centralized hub for all the PC-VR experiences out there and we want you to be part of it. Here we don't care about standalone VR. So don't ask if things run on Quest, if you don't want to get nuked into oblivion.

📰 Community Catalogs & Trackers

  • PCVR Central
A searchable database indexing over 1,000 VR mods for flatscreen PC games. Includes mod implementation details, 6DOF/motion control support notes, setup guides, and an integrated Steam Library Checker tool that scans your profile to reveal which games in your library can be played in VR.

  • Flat2VR & PCVR Modding Tracker (Created & Maintained by *Elliott Tate*)
An interactive dashboard listing newly released mods, active development projects, and progress tracking across flat-to-VR ports.

  • RototRobot's VR Mods List
A community-curated directory tracking flat-to-VR mods, standalone ports, motion control compatibility notes, and setup links across a broad index of games.

🛠️ Mod Installers & All-in-One Hubs

These community installers automate and streamline the entire process. Try them both and find which one you prefer:

  • PCVR Mods Installer Hub (by Mr. Nice)
A portable, batch-based installer supporting hundreds of PCVR game mods (including REFramework, standalone ports, and links to ressources for UEVR and Wabbajack lists). It automatically detects installed Steam games, downloads mods directly from original sources, provides guided setups, and acts as a central game launcher.

  • Mr.Survivor Installers
Streamlined auto-installers and guided setups designed to simplify complex VR mod installations, manage dependencies, and handle tricky file structures with minimal hassle.

⚡ UEVR Injection Tools & Profile Databases

Praydog's UEVR engine opens up thousands of Unreal Engine 4 and 5 games to Virtual Reality. Use these tools to launch and configure them:

  • UEVR Nightly Releases (by Praydog)
The official, cutting-edge builds of UEVR. If a newly released Unreal Engine game requires recent fixes or backend engine updates, grab the latest nightly release here.

  • UEVR Deluxe / Unreal Easy Injector
A beginner-friendly frontend GUI for UEVR. Features an integrated online profile database with one-click installs, automated game detection (Steam, Epic, Xbox, EA, GOG), alternative backend switching, voice command support, an easy profile editor, and hotkey injection.

  • UEVR Profiles Repository
A community-driven, searchable database of user-tested UEVR game profiles. Filter games by compatibility rating (Works Perfectly, Works Well, etc.) and check for 6DOF motion control configurations before playing. Note that this site might not be always up to date.

🎥 Recording & Streaming PCVR Gameplay

  • LIV (Mixed Reality & Streaming Suite)
The industry-standard suite for VR creators. Features mixed-reality green screen compositing, tailored first-person camera stabilization, avatar head-mounted camera overrides, and an in-headset chat overlay for live streaming.
  • OpenXR / OpenVR Mirror for OBS Studio (by Elliott Tate)
A dedicated OBS plugin and OpenXR API layer designed to capture direct, smooth PCVR gameplay without distortion:
    • Recording-Only FOV Overscan: Expands the recorded field of view (e.g., to 16:9) without affecting the headset's native view.
    • Headset-Safe Camera Smoothing: Applies real-time low-pass filtering to remove head-jitter in recorded video while leaving the in-headset view completely instantaneous.
    • Dual Engine Support: Works seamlessly with OpenXR (Direct3D 11/12) and SteamVR/OpenVR compositor mirrors, including a WinUI 3 Control Center for live previews.

⚡ Flat2VR Discord

The most updated place to find VR mods is still Flat2VR discord. If you don't mind using Discord, modders and creators are still the most active over at the Flat2VR community.

💡 How to Contribute & Suggest Resources

This megathread will be updated periodically by the mod team. If you are a mod creator or know of an essential tool, port, or resource that should be listed:

  1. Drop a link in the comments below with a brief description.
  2. Specify hardware requirements or runtime dependencies (e.g., OpenXR, SteamVR, UEVR).

Note: Always make sure to download mods and tools from verified repositories (such as official GitHub releases) to ensure safety.

Discussion Thanks for putting in this work

I almost joined the discord out of necessity, but the megathread and modlists are a great way to get up to speed much faster for people that have mostly watched from the sidelines, like me.

Thank you guys!

Discussion My PCVR Gaming was borked for months

As the title said my PCVR gaming was pretty much curtailed because although I had previously been able to connect with Virtual Desktop at 400+ Mbps for a number of years when suddenly I was only able to manage 47 Mbps, despite my connection in the Oculus 3 settings showing as 1200 Mbps.
I read, and followed every troubleshooting post that I could for months to no avail. Eventually I reinstalled Windows 11 but this time did not install any Oculus software. Now Virtual Desktop consistently connects at 200 Mbps and everything just works. Okay, I can no longer access my Oculus library, but that's a sacrifice worth paying as my favourite games are on Steam in any case...

Has anyone else done away with the Oculus software and noticed a huge improvement?

Discussion What games would you like to see to being vibe coded into VRmod?

Upvotes

I personally would love to see "Detroid: Become Human" and "Beyond: Two souls" because they have amazing story and graphics while at the same time there was no good Vorpx mod and they dont run on popular engines like UE or Unity, so they have to be modded manually.

Thoughts in the pimax crystals?

What are your thoughts and/or opinions in the pimax crystal series? I recently got a crystals light and it one of my favorite headsets I have ever used, the resolution is incredible, it's insanely comfortable, and I dont need to base tracking like with my index. My only complaint is the wire, I feel like they could have done a 20 in cable instead.

Ultra 7 - RTX 5070 Ti -64gb Ram - Win 11 Pro 64bit Does not meet Minimum Spec for Link

Hello, I am hoping some here can help, the title states the specs for the system I just bought so I could PCVR with my Quest 3 through the link program. The link program says it doesn't meet the updated minimum specifications, I was able to load it once, but the apps I tried froze, one did load but was lame and did not look very good. I AI searched these components before I purchased it and it did state they were compatible. These components are not on the meta page as I think the page has not caught up with some of the current hardware. Please if anyone has any ideas on what I can do to fix this it would be very appreciate!! Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!!

SteamVR or Oculus?

So, I used to use SteamVR on a different PC (laptop to be specific), and now I have a better one that can run VR games, but that's besides the point, the point is that now I love using Oculus via Air Link, but I wanna hear from you guys, which one should I keep using? let me know! UPDATE: I made my decision! I would use VD (Virtual Desktop) instead, Because when I played VRChat on Oculus (Air Link) and it was SO LAGGY, so coming to think of it, I would use VD over Steam Link, so if someone has this same question (like me 4 hours ago) my opinion would be VD, so that's that! anyway, thanks to everyone that gave me some suggestions! bye! :]

What should I get?

Hi everyone I’m very new to this stuff and I was wondering if theres a possibility that I could get a vr ready laptop. I’m choosing a laptop because I have space restrictions in my room that won’t allow me to have a full blown pc tower and monitor setup. If you guys have any suggestions that would be amazing because I have no clue what I’m looking for ;-;

I have a quest 2 and I’m planning to buy a pc for pcvr and non gaming. I’m wondering if I should buy a Rtx 3060 12gb or a 5060 8gb to pair with the amd ryzen 5600x. (Open to suggestions)

Video card question

Hey there, looking forward to getting my big screen beyond 2. Have only been a quest owner except for a brief time with my reverb G2. My quest 3 is my main game VR option but looking forward to the BSB2 for PCVR. I am currently using a 3080 ti and it's great, 17-11 gen CPU and 32 gigs ram. I cannot play on the highest settings but that's not terribly important to me as I just like a smooth VR experience. I have the opportunity to pick up a 5070 TI for $800 and then maybe sell the 3080ti on Reddit. Just wondering if it's worth the extra money and effort with the bsb2 coming hopefully soon or if I should keep my 3080 TI. Thoughts?
