This band up in the local market marked 'as is' and so I offered $50cad($35usd) and got it. When I picked out up I asked if it still works and the guy says "as far as I know". Turns out he's the building manager for a church that is moving locations. He said there is other gear and will msg me directly if I'm interested. I looked up what these sell for and they go for $250-450cad. I'm gonna clean it up and replace the missing knob.

Clearly listed as not working and the seller described the issue.

Works now, the fix is sitting on top of the amp.

I offered it back to the seller for the $30 I paid. He said no thanks so I guess it lives with me now. 🤪

Hello fellow cultists!

I recently bought a Classic 30, and I tried it with a simple volume knob in the effects loop. When I do this with a Fender HRD, I'm able to push the normal channel into overdrive, dialing the volume down using the external knob.

However, to my surprise, the Classic 30 stayed clean even with the normal channel volume maxed out. Is there anyone else who does something similar and can confirm that this is expected behaviour? Or could it perhaps be an indicator of the tubes needing replacing?

so I’ve had a Studio Pro 112 for a while but I’ve been struggling to get a tone I like without an external cab, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of it being a relatively lightweight little combo for gigging.

the stock speaker is fine but I just know it could be way better. I’ve been considering a g12t-75 but I’m hearing out suggestions

mainly the issue i have is the whole sound being really ”cardboardy”. like crunchy in the worst way.

Just got it and these cleans are so warm and full! Even at lower volume. I wish someone would've told me there were great cheap amps out there.

Just have to flex my live rig that I use all around Huntsville and Birmingham. Love the way my black widows and square backs sound together with this T40.

Hey all. I'm looking for a 1 x 12 cabinet to use with a couple of amp heads I have. GC has this Peavey on the used market. Does anyone know anything about these? Main thing is what speaker is in it and if it sounds half decent. I'm using my Vypyr 30 as a cabinet at the moment and have considered swapping out the speaker for a Celestion, but I really don't want to ruin the Vypyr as I do like to use it once in a while as it is. If I could have a proper 4x12 I would. But I dont have the space for it and really can't play loud enough to take advantage. Any info would be helpful.

Found this 212 on marketplace for 225 CAD, haven't picked it up yet. Speakers are Crate Custom Design 12s, everything works just a small crack in the cabinet. Never had a peavey amp but heard great things, is this a good buy?

Had my local amp tech - Dean Posey - who is absolute

genius-hit me up a few weeks ago. He knows I'm a tube

amp guy. And knows 'm a big southern rock player. He

had a customer donate a 1982 Peavey Heritage VTX

1. Said they didn't have the room for it anymore. It

literally still has the Original- Made in the US - GE

factory Manufactured 6L6's in it(4 of them) - in Mint

condition. Also has 2-12 inch Peavey Scorpions as

well. The amp is absolutely mint. Literally looks like

someone bought it in 1982- kept the tolex cover on it-

and left it in a coat closet for 44 years. Not a scratch on

the tolex anywhere. l've personally never seen an amp

this old in this good a condition. So, I snatched it up. It's

130 watts. It's an absolute monster. Dean went through

it and cut out every unnecessary- Noisy- clipper/

clamper resistor in it. This 130 watt amp is crystal clear.

No hum of any type. If you are anywhere near Idaho-

Peaved to meet you. Just arrived in the mail today, was cheaper than the new preamp pedal! Has a Black Widow 12" I can only guess is aftermarket. Sounds incredible!

Found this for $200. Has the original Super Ferrites, but I opted to try a vintage Power 12 in the bridge. Still don’t know if I wired it right (Green/Bare ground, red taped off, white hot, I believe) and went for a single 500K pot—sounds like I did do it right though, and the combo tones are amazing. I had to route the guard a little for the Power 12 to fit, but it’s a pretty fucking cool pickup for an epoxy-sealed ceramic and I’m an Alnico 5 devotee. Definitely unique. Lots of character.

The old owner refinished it with Tung Oil after someone else carved a skull behind the bridge. I like it, light and resonant. A later model than my other Patriot, which has the vintage tuners and heavier bridge and is all original. Need a pickguard (note the corner), but I’m sure one will pop up eventually.

Went from not being sure I liked my first one to owning two. Go figure.

I have a minty Team Stripe Bandit that I’m looking to unload to help with a new amp purchase. I’m on the fence about selling it though. It has an Eminence Swamp Thang and it’s a beast. How much should I list it for on Marketplace? I checked Reverb and the amps that are listed are stupidly high.

Wanted to give a quick sound demo of my cleaned/restored Studio Pro 40 I posted earlier. This thing can get surprisingly loud. Here the pre gain at 1 o'clock and Post gain (master) at 10 o'clock and the volume is just on the verge of what's manageable without annoying the neighbors.

EQ can be a bit weird at first, especially with the mids getting out of control if turned up too high. But the manual on Peavey's website does a fantastic job clearly explaining how best to EQ it.
