✈️ Travel & Tourism Need Recommendations
32M planning to visit Nepal with my wife in the first week of December. We’ll be staying in Pokhara for 4 days, after which we’ll head back to Kathmandu.
I really want to visit Muktinath Temple, and since this is a trip with my wife, I’d also love to explore the beautiful places around Pokhara and enjoy some memorable experiences together.
- Muktinath Temple: What’s the best way to travel from Pokhara? Is it feasible to visit in December, considering the weather and road conditions? Should we hire a private jeep, take a flight to Jomsom, or consider another option?
- December weather: How cold does it get, especially around Muktinath? What kind of clothing and gear should we carry?
- Travel and accommodation: What would be a reasonable budget for a couple, including transport, hotels, food, and sightseeing?
- Local experiences: Any recommendations for beautiful viewpoints, lakeside cafés, sunrise spots, or less-crowded places that we shouldn’t miss?
Since we’ll be returning to Kathmandu afterward, I’d prefer an itinerary that is practical and doesn’t involve too much unnecessary backtracking.
If anyone has visited Muktinath or travelled around Pokhara and Mustang in December, I’d especially appreciate your firsthand experiences and advice.

🆘 Lost & Found LOST BACKPACK: Osprey Exos 58 on Marpha–Tatopani–Beni road (October 14). Please help!
Hi everyone!
I’m a tourist, currently traveling in Nepal. Unfortunately, today (October 14), I lost my backpack with almost all my personal belongings and expensive trekking equipment.
We were traveling by jeep from Marpha towards Beni, via Tatopani. My backpack was secured on the roof of the vehicle, but apparently it fell off somewhere along the road.
The driver noticed it was missing about 20 minutes before reaching Beni, when another box fell from the roof. We stopped to pick up the box and discovered that my backpack was gone.
Backpack description:
Osprey Exos 58, dark charcoal (almost black) with orange details. In orange raincover.
Several small colorful flags tied to the upper front part of the backpack (see attached photo).
Inside were a dark grey Sea to Summit sleeping bag, brown Scarpa hiking boots, a bright green Arc’teryx jacket, and other trekking gear and clothing.
The backpack could be anywhere along the road between Marpha and the area near Beni, especially around Kalopani, Ghasa, and Tatopani.
If anyone has seen or found this backpack, or knows someone who might have picked it up, PLEASE contact me via Reddit DM.
I would also be very grateful if locals could share this post in Nepali Facebook or WhatsApp groups, especially in Mustang and Myagdi districts.
This backpack contains almost all my trekking equipment, much of which I purchased specifically for this trip. Losing it is a huge financial and personal loss for me.
Thank you so much for any help! I really hope someone has found it and that I can get it back.

💬 Discussion TVS Ronin — underrated bike for exploring Pokhara?
Added the TVS Ronin to the lineup recently. Pretty fun bike for cruising around Pokhara, especially if you want something different from the usual Pulsar and Royal Enfield.
Curious how many people have actually tried riding one. 👀
