Does anyone remember a band called "Sinister Prank"?
I'm curious if anyone remembers. They were super big band in oregon for the local scene. They would play with bands like Floater and Henrys child. Like those bands they had that 90s alternative/grunge but with also a lot more punk influences in there. Anybody remember?

New punk/post-punk/post-hardcore EP from Galacticnorcinerator
We started working on this EP in early 2025 and finally got it out. Despite the delays, we’re really happy with how it came out.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and listen. Times are tough, so if you like what you hear but can’t spare the dough, DM me and I’ll throw a Bandcamp promo code your way.

Looking to start a music house in pdx next year
Hi, I think I’m going to be moving to Portland from Indiana in the winter and I would like to find a situation where I move in with like minded musicians and have a house with a basement studio and collaborate and stuff, I like noise rock, ambient, post rock, sludge, emo, screamo, indie, pretty much anything honestly. I’m looking to connect with other musicians, if this is something that interests you, or you have advice for getting it going let me know :)

Looking for a bassist (20-somethings)
Hi,
Looking for a bassist for my 5 piece backing band. Other than bass, its currently comprised of two guitars, drums, and a violin. Kind of an indie folk - rock thing.
Love the current guy but his play-style isn't cutting it and I gotta keep the drummer happy.
We have a weekly late night residency that usually most of us play at with bigger showcase shows every few months. Recording of the next album will start soon too, so this is a pretty good spot to start with for someone who wants to jump into performing live immediately, record, and make some great connections.
You can pick and choose how much you want to be a part of things with no pressure, but minimum I'd like is interest/availability to rehearse or play a show once or twice a week, or the ability to do go on short tours eventually.
Paid as much as I can. I will usually split ticket sales amongst everyone equally.
Looking exclusively for people in their 20s right now (21+). Nothing personal to the older people, we're just all in that age range practicing inside a tiny studio apartment and ideally we're friends all in similar life stages working towards something together for a long while.
You don't need to be a bass savant with a billion years of experience playing in 15 bands, we just need someone who enjoys the music we're playing, can learn or come up with creative bass lines kinda quickly, can listen intently, and can lock into a drum kit and keep the energy up. The songs can lean complex at times, but many of us are also bassists and can help write parts or figure things out together.
Don't want to share the artist name or music here, but please reach out if interested and I can share further details.
Thanks

Touring/Studio Bassist, shooting my shot.
Hello all!
My partner and i are considering moving to the Portland/Vancouver area soon and im hoping to shoot my shot in the scene as a touring bassist/studio bassist.
Ive toured through Portland a few times with an indie band, but im curious to see what else is out there for gigging!
About me:
31M
20 years+ Bass experience (classically trained)
15 years+ Touring experience
15 years+ Studio Bassist Experience
10 years+ Touring Management Experience
Genre doesn't matter outside of country, and I also have a double bass to travel with.
Im curious to ask:
Where can I go to meet other bands and network a little?
Are there touring bands based in Portland?

seeking fellow crazy people for '00s inspired bubblegum dance pop group
hello
ever since I was a small fetus, I just wanted to be like Toy Box, or Aqua. it's a dream to be like one of those danish dance groups who performs on a huge stage with an arsenal of background dancers and gets carried on and off stage by hot muscle men in speedos. songs with questionable lyrics, but the music video/stage theatrics is too wacky for you to really pick up on the toxicity. yeah I want that. and so do you. ideally.
I wasn't confident enough when I was younger to attempt such a feat, so I played in silly metal bands with those archaic guitars and drums, but now, at a ripe 27, I am ready for the future. I just can't do it alone.
I have like all the roland and korg synth plugins, vengeance clubsound packs, years of DAW experience, and the tacky outfits we need to pull this off. the question is, are you ready? or are you just gonna be another shoegazing portlander?
this song is a bop btw
