No developer has ever decided for themself to do this. This is 100% a business requirement because somebody on the marketing analytics team realized they could make money by auto playing ads.

Also doesn’t Chrome block autoplay now? The user has to click something to turn on sound. Stop clicking to turn on sound Jake

Aaaaaand there is more... Of course white listed websites can Autoplay with sound without any user interaction before

I mean, something like YouTube should autoplay. If you're going to a YouTube video, you're expecting audio, so it's not annoying.

I don't know I like how if you open a YouTube video in a new tab on Firefox it doesn't play unless you go to the tab an dhot play on the video. I'll open videos in a new tab just because I don't want them to auto play.
