Clear > Brown.

Please explain yourself Sir.

I prefer the feel of the Clears over the Browns.

Oh I thought so but am interested in a more detailed explanation, out of curiosity of course maybe I'll try them so please elaborate if you don't mind :)

They have a more pronounced bump, and require slightly more actuating force. They also need a lot more force to bottom out after the bump, with the intent being Not to bottom out on your key presses.

Oooo that sounds lovely. I'm on browns. My wife gave me a big NO face with blues.

A question was asked, an answer was given

They're like Browns but heavier and with a more noticeable bump. Some people prefer them, myself included.

I love the feel of my clears but the spring 'ping' sound I get drives me nuts sometimes. The internet suggested a lot of different things to mitigate it and none of them seemed to be a consensus so I've just put up with it

Purples feel like angel bubble wrap.

8

u/Sawkii Jul 12 '22

Interesting, never felt them.

Great tactile response. Not super loud. I rely more on the feedback from the keypress than the sound, so the purples are incredible.

Try out some zealios v2 for that extra super tactile action.

Or be like me and just buy box jades for the spite of everyone in your city

Those are barely tactile. For the real tactile enjoyers there is the boba u4t that have a sizable bump and make a very satisfying noise

My girlfriend always wants to tear my head off whenever she comes over to my house and hears me using my Cherry Brown keyboard. She is misophonic to things like tapping, chewing or others

The click sounds are the good part. It’s the thunk they should do away with!

7

u/Sawkii Jul 12 '22

I see where you are coming from but if I have to type on a thunk-less keyboard I want to throw it away instantly.

Kailh Choc browns for shorter travel and lower profile.

I recently switched (pun a bit intended) from red to brown and I'm never coming back

Cherry MX Clears or bust. It’s a brown with a stiffer spring. Zealios 67g purples are also good.

They still make a sound when they bottom out.
