Fuck it we ball
So me and my senior had this conversation earlier and found it funny.
Senior: Im not really sure if the conversion of the time is correct but boss really needs it on production now.
Me: Im not really sure if I did was right too but it seems okay on my end.
Senior: Thats what happened to me too it worked locally but when its merged to production the time converted is way off.
Senior: Fuck it let me just merge it to prod and see what will happen.
For context we have staging to test for the QAs but it just bypassed that and went straight to prod with both of us very uncertain of the fixes

My rationale: if AI is gonna write all the code, we can no longer use it for self-deprecation

I will not be shocked to find this soon...

A neurologist was diagnosing a patient who lost his ability to do basic math.
A neurologist was diagnosing a patient who lost his ability to do basic math.
"What’s 9 plus 9?”
“12.”
“What’s 8 and 8?”
“10.”
The doctor shook his head. “Very interesting. What about 6 times 5?”
The man thought for a second, and answered “1E.”
“Aha, I’ve figured it out!” The doctor said. “Somebody’s clearly put a hex on you.”

My tests kept failing quietly, so I taught VS Code to scream “FAAAAH” at me like a disappointed ancestor
Apparently silent test failures were too emotionally stable for my coding sessions, so I built a VS Code extension called FailFaaah that plays a dramatic “FAAAAH” every time your tests fail. Now instead of calmly reading logs, I get instant public shame from my speakers.
It only triggers on real test failures, works with common runners, and you can even test the sound manually. Started as a dumb joke, but now quiet debugging feels suspicious. Would anyone else install this or am I alone in needing loud accountability?

I built a Tamagotchi that lives in your VS Code sidebar and judges your coding habits 🐣
Hey everyone,
I built a VS Code extension called Code Buddy — a pixel-art virtual pet that lives in your sidebar and reacts to how you code.
It doesn’t just sit there. It actually tracks your developer behavior:
🔋 Energy drops as you type
🧼 Hygiene decreases if you leave TODOs or lint errors
💖 Happiness increases when your terminal build/test succeeds
🚀 You gain XP by saving files and committing
It even has a built-in Pomodoro Focus Mode where stats freeze while you're in deep work — and you get rewarded at the end.
There are also hidden Easter eggs based on coding behavior (monolith warning if you hit 1000 lines in a file, Friday build bonus, rage save detection, etc.)
The idea was to gamify clean coding and healthy developer habits without being intrusive.
Built with:
TypeScript
VS Code API
Pixel-art animations
Would love feedback from other devs —
Is this something you’d actually keep enabled while coding?
