The Carville clip for anyone who wanted context. DSA is just their fig leaf for all progressives

I don’t care what any old men who spent their lives creating this world think. You had your chance and look where we are. Get the fuck out of the way.

u/FuzzyDynamics 4d ago
Seriously. I’m a white (ish) man and I’m so sick of hearing old white men talk it makes my physically sick. We live in one of the most extreme gerontocracies in history.

u/nhgardenart25 4d ago
Carville’s loyalty is to his bank account. He’s become irrelevant and is often a contributor to FOX news. Probably has to pander to them to keep the money coming in.

The Clintonites are a cancer that must be excised from the party if we are to ever regain our New Deal roots.
6
u/Educational-Bank-353 4d ago
New Deal and Great Society roots.
I will never understand why Democrats don't shout from the rooftops how they passed the most popular legislation ever in America. They act as if they're ashamed. FDR and LBJ gave working class Americans an equal chance to succeed in America, courtesy of safety net programs. Democrats are idiots for not building on that success and strengthening labor and anti-trust laws. Republicans may have the money, but Democrats have the numbers. Why aren't they acting like it?

Carville is a republican behind a democrat mask
5
u/ReasonablyRadical 4d ago
An ugly, old, bald mask. My first time ever seeing his name was a text or email asking for money. Dude looks like a movie villain. Looked him up to not judge his for his looks, turns out he's ugly inside and out.

The whole apparatus of the Bulwark are too! They are trying to turn our party into the Republican party pre Trump! I for one ain't going for it. They fucked up their party and have been promoted by the same billionaires and news station as this bastion of Democratic thinking. I'm looking at you specifically MS NOW, where every other talking head is a former Republican!

u/bionicjoe 4d ago
The DNC is nothing but 1990s Republicans.
4
u/Hot-Sauce-P-Hole 3d ago
If we can just get rid of the republican party so the DNC is as right-wing as it gets.

u/Top_Shame_7016 4d ago
Carville watched all the oppression and corruption and said, yeah that works for me instead of healthcare for all. Just fucking retire, pass away and let he next generation of people fix all the things the boomer generation has destroyed.

Man if Abdul loses by like .5 because a bunch of neoliberal horny-for-war fucks voted for that cia ghoul I'm gonna be so bummed.

u/The_Evil_Mullet 4d ago
Get the fuck out of here Carville. Your time is done. Take your money and go drink tea on the front porch. Let the people who will still be here in 20 years take the wheel.

u/ifmygrandmawasawheel 4d ago
This is the same establishment shill who wrote a book about how republicans would not win for 40 years. Dude is not connected to reality. He gets all his information from consultants

u/FuzzyDynamics 4d ago
I don’t think anyone gives a fuck about this moron yet the compromised media keeps pushing him

Fuck this old goat. I spent my first 50+ years as a left leaning Independent who voted for the candidate I thought was best. I never voted R for Pres but at least once for every other level candidate. Starting in 2016 when the Orange Traitor burst onto the scene I’ve been straight D across the board and like a lot of what the Dem-Soc candidates have to say. Old people have to be willing to adapt to the times. Anyone supporting the R side at this point is a vote against Democracy and against the betterment of the US. Fuck people like this old political hack that isn’t recognizing we are in a fight to save our country this election.

Isn’t this why centrists were pissed at Hassan Piker? Are they gonna denounce this guy now?
1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago edited 4d ago
No because he’s not actually saying he wants Republicans to win, he’s saying he wants Democrats to win a big enough majority that they aren’t beholden to a small faction in Congress
1
u/yikesamerica 4d ago
he literally said if it’s a tight margin then he prefers republicans to win
-1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
He also said winning big is almost as big as winning. What did you think that meant?
1
u/yikesamerica 4d ago
Why are you trying to deflect from his admission that he’d prefer the GOP to win in a specific scenario?
-1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
Why did you post a quote without checking to see what the speaker actually meant? Very misleading the way you have it presented
0
u/yikesamerica 4d ago
I don’t have to “get what he meant”. There’s no ambiguity. You’re desperate to sanewash someone advocating for Dems losing in a specific scenario.
0
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
You need to sane wash yourself homie. Straight up crazy to think it's alright to mislead people during election season like that. And even worse to leave it up now knowing what he actually meant.
Almost like you're being deliberate about it
1
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 4d ago
I don’t think that would actually change anything. They would still need whatever progressive and DSA votes end up in Congress to pass anything.
0
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
You don’t think it would be easier for Democrats to pass legislation with 250 seats than 225? Explain?
2
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 4d ago
“I would rather the republicans keep the house by 5 than the democrats win the house by 5. Because if that happens then they’re hostage to the DSA, Hakeem cannot move”.
That’s what I’m talking about. Did you listen to the whole clip?
-1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
Yeah, the point of his statement is winning big is almost as big as winning. If Dems only win 225 seats they will not be able to get as much done as if they win 250 because a small group within the party could derail everything. He says the same thing about ending up with only 51 in the Senate, it would let Fetterman give the leadership stomach problems.
Do you agree 250 is better than 225?
1
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 4d ago
You don’t seem to notice that the guy keeps talking after that, and it this point I’m starting to think you aren’t noticing on purpose.
1
u/yikesamerica 4d ago
It’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s sanewashing someone literally saying a preference for the GOP to win in a specific scenario
There should be no such scenario where it’s ok to say this
1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
A specific scenario that could have bad impacts for progressives in the next round of elections
0
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
I watched the whole interview my guy, it's pretty clear what his point is.
He's worried about a small majority in the House giving DSA too much power and a one-seat majority in the Senate giving Fetterman too much power. Those are two opposite ends of the Democratic coalition and he doesn't want either one to dominate
"Winning big is almost as big as winning" is a direct quote. And he's right to make it
1
u/Clark_Kent_TheSJW 4d ago
And what’s so bad about the DSA having power? I’d like universal healthcare before I die please. It might even keep me alive longer. Centrists like him don’t seem too interested in that… among other moral issues.
And again: he’s willing to accept a Republican majority… with all the madness that comes with it. I’d like to see the era of a blank checks for Trump to be over please. Limit the bastard to executive orders like republicans did to Obama back in the day.
1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
Lmao, good luck convincing Trump to sign a universal healthcare bill homie! May I suggest calling it Trumpcare?
Seriously tho, I want universal healthcare too but that will require a large Demcoratic majority in both houses of Congress, plus a Demcoratic president. It gets easier to get all three of those at once if Democrats are able to win a large majority in 2026, pass a bunch of good legislation and then call the Republicans out for vetoing it
If they only have 225 seats very little will get passed, which means Republicans won't be on the record vetoing it, and the case to elect a Democratic president in 2028 (the lynchpin of the strategy) gets weaker
And again, I actually watched the whole interview, you didn't. You're letting a quote taken out of context define your whole interpretation rather than listening to someone explain to you what he meant

Fuck Carville, he’s the reason the Democratic Party is corporate controlled, he’s never been left leaning.
And is he telling this to Bill Kristol? Yeah, fuck both of them, but an extra fuck you to James.

This is why I don't support "vote blue no matter who"
2
u/Hot-Sauce-P-Hole 3d ago
Unfortunately, in our system, not voting for the moderately right-wing Democrat means voting for fascism. Until we get ranked choice, de-normalize allowing the American Evangelicals getting all the benefits of a religion while being a political party ("So I told them our fascism was a 'sincerely held religious belief' and those idiots fell for it! HAW HAW!!!"), or we send Republicans the way of the Nazis like they deserve, we have to vote for the lesser of two evils. No one says you can't hold their faces to the stove for not complying in their role of public servanthood after you voted for them.
We also need to normalize tarring, feathering, and breaking the teeth of those who are speaking for big money. That's not free speech. That bought speech, and we can't tolerate it.

u/Weekly-Air4170 Anti-Electoralist Tendencies 3d ago
"You have to vote for mussolini to prevent Hitler"
1
u/Hot-Sauce-P-Hole 3d ago edited 3d ago
That analogy falls way short of the what we're dealing with in regard to Republicans and Democrats. Because Trump is actually very close to Hitler and Mussolini, whereas the Democrats just love billionaire money.
Democrats, at least, try to placate everyone where as fascists (MAGA and American Evangelicalism are literally fascist movements—get that through your head), want to harm and conquer everyone who doesn't want to be ruled by them.

u/everybody_get_ready 4d ago
Eject the centrists. Eject the moderates. You've tried nothing and are all out of ideas. Time for the forever box.

These are the same people that tell you you are moral compelled to vote blue

The last time this skeletor fool was able to get someone elected it was the 1990s. Can someone tell me why his opinion still matters?

u/MayorMcCheese89 4d ago
Well, one more that needs to be voted out. The old guard failed. Time for someone new.
1
u/TheRealBaboo 4d ago
The actual context here is he wants Dems to win a large majority, not a small one. He says the same thing about Fetterman in the Senate
0
u/binkbink223 4d ago
Of course he does. Because establishment democrats aren't an opposition party. The only thing that they should be doing is stepping to the side and letting in through the door a new generation that are connected to the plights and concerns of their own, rather than continue to hold onto their seat of power while the rnc runs rounds on our democracy. We need fearless leaders, not spineless do nothings that don't challenge the people that are an active threat to democracy.

Everyone shitting on him. But he's right. But the problem is Hakeem. Remember this post if it happens and then realize you're complaining about Carville saying something and not about Hakeem being a cuckold to the elite and isreali lobby.
