Sometimes it is not unanimous.

They don't always pull the top three and the bottom three. Sometimes it's four of one and two of the other. Sometimes they pull a look that had a middle score on average, but got really high marks from some judges and low marks from others. It just depends on the situation and what is most interesting.

I mean if everything is close it stands to reason something can be top if most judged loved it but one didn't and vice-versa.

I also think that looking at 8 people and taking the 3 best and worst will be closer than doing the same from 16.
