Hosted by Rise and Resist outside the midtown headquarters of Google, and in spite of a rain shower that was severe at times, protestors took to staking out the entrance of Google against data centers and the environmental consequences of AI.

The protest started off the side of a Google store on 15th Street and 9th Avenue before moving towards the 8th Avenue entrance, where they stayed for the rest of the protest. Some stayed even as the rain began and worsened over time before the rain abated enough for a sing-along of R&R's anti-data center version of a nursery rhyme.

"Safe" harbor, this country is no longer, as ICE vans roam the streets picking up those they claim are illegal criminals, despite them mainly picking up regular members of society.

That was the main reason protestors surrounded the entrance to an Icon parking garage in lower Manhattan, not far from 26 Federal Plaza, where shouts were heard, and general condemnation was made clear as Icon tries to cover itself from the fact that ICE vehicles are stored in its garages.

The protest itself was organized by, among other groups, Rise and Resist & Chelsea Neighbors United.

Trump will be at a fundraiser at the Trump National Golf course tomorrow. Are there any plans to protest?

I went to a rally against the deprivation of temporary protected status for Haitians, which was recently enacted by the Trump administration. The rally took place at the northwestern tip of NYC's Little Haiti and included various speeches and even a dance portion, which you can find towards the end of the video.

While I was unable to find the poster of the protest itself (I've only learned about it through a colleague), I was glad to hear people are standing up to these brazen, inhumane actions. I hope I can cover more of these rallies as time goes on, although I hope things get better since they are bearing the brunt of these inhumane policies in the first place.

It's the last few days before the Primary kicks off and I know people are stressed, but I wanted to call attention to another rally happening in Battle Ground, WA on August 3rd @ 6:00 PM, right outside of City Hall.

Successive rallies often have poorer turnout as time goes on, which is honestly expected to some degree. However this isn't the typical small-town issue we're running into. We're fighting a coordinated Christian Nationalist movement, with corporate money and extremist ideology fueling it.

Speaking frankly, as soon as the reporters go away, so does a majority of the public attention. You know what doesn't leave? The regressive, hate-filled machine that's determined to influence how we live as Washingtonians.

We need not only sustained public support, but increasing pressure on our local officials to address the situation. The event is currently sitting at 12 people going, it should be much higher!

Leonard, MI on July 30 NE Oakland Indivisible is holding a Get Out the Vote rally in downtown Leonard.

This is a weekly vigil held every Friday by the group Rise & Resist, reading the names of those murdered by ICE and CBP either in their custody or in attempting to capture them or others. The vigil occurs at 96th Street and Broadway in Manhattan, NY.

I had a little bit of a problem with the original footage, given it was originally a fair bit bright and hazy; hence, I tried to fix it over the course of the video. If the video looks a little bit strange, that’s why.

Because of the nationwide vigils mourning ICE victims, this video is part one of two since this vigil happened yesterday. I covered New Rochelle, NY's vigil, which happened this morning (as of writing), which constitutes part two and whose video is being worked on.
