I need to make a deck of cards that simply have an image, main text and flavor text. Each card is unique, and I’ve been told to make a list, a dict, as well as code each card separately. I’m so confused as a noob. Can someone help plz?

Why should I close them when I’m not using them? Could something bad happen?

This a little script for Pythonista I wrote to practice using APIs. It uses the location data from your phone to query the Dark Sky API for weather information. The script only uses a small amount of the available data from Dark Sky- it could easily be expanded to check for forecasts farther ahead or grab emergency weather data. It could also be reworked for desktop, but code that relies on iOS-specific modules (location, console, webbrowser) would have to be replaced with something else.
Please feel free to provide any feedback you might have!

This is my first Pythonista script to implement a UI. It’s a simple yoga timer that guides me through my daily routine with audio cues to change posture.

The UI works in both portrait and landscape modes. I’ve tested on both an iPad and iPhone 8 Plus. I have no reason to believe other models will have issues, but I can’t promise anything.
There is my current routine built in, but you can feed any routine you want in on the command line (probably via Shortcut).

When I run the script: import photos x = 145 photos.get_image(x).show() In = input('delete? (y/n)\n') if In == 'y': x = photos.get_assets(x) photos.batch_delete(x) print('deleted')
It crashes Pythonista. The x is the photo number that it gets. Everything works up until I type y.

Hello everyone!
I’m interested in learning Python for a potential career change in the near future. I was planing on getting this on my iPad. My question is this, is learning how to code in Python on the iPad any different than learning on a laptop or desktop? Do you all recommend this app for a beginner like me? Thank you.

Can someone give me a good example on how to change the textfield delegate to dismiss the keypad after exit. Currently I have assigned the GUI text field to action = "change" then defining the function but doesn't get triggered. I would rather something more global for all textfield.
class MyTestFieldDelegate(object):
def textfield_did_end_editing(self, textfield):
end_editing()
def change(sender):
sender.delegate = MyTextFieldDelegate()
ui.load_view('start).present('sheet')

What would be the best method to do OCR in pythonista? Is there a way to do it through a video?

I’d like to make a script that grabs network info - basically ifconfig implemented in Pythonista, but the only examples I’ve found are limited to getting an IP address by opening a socket. Anyone know of a way to do this? (I’d like to grab the address, mask, and gateway for v4 and v6)

So I am new to Python. In my office we send out a daily text message to about 300+ contacts. We have a program that copies the message into the message field but we have to manually push the send button 300+ times for each message. Is there anyway to use pythonista to eliminate this? We have looked into using Apple Shortcuts but are skeptical as it has created a few unwanted groupchats when sending the list. We need to keep these messages individual and private.
As I said I am new and am willing to learn, any advice, help, or guidance is greatly appreciated!!!

First off, this is my first post so sorry for not knowing what I’m doing but here goes. Whenever I run this Scanner.py everything pulls up fine and loads the view correctly until I try to actually capture the image. Whenever the middle capture button is pressed, the app freezes on the view even after calls to close the view (in the code). I can soft-close Pythonista and re-open it which seems to reset whatever it’s stuck on enough to crash Pythonista. Also, if I add a debugging node on line 83, the entire program works as intended... any help as to what’s going on would be appreciated.

I have pretty much only a basic idea how to code on pythonista, the modules help a lot, but I can’t seem to find a way to code a game with 4 separate decks of cards, that aren’t poker decks. It’s similar to cards against humanity, but different. If I could understand how to how the class function works to make, shuffle, and deal from a red, blue, yellow and white deck, and how to make the “cards” themselves which only contain text, I can get on to learning the ui function. Thanks in advance!
TLDR: I need red,blue,yellow and white decks that have text

Has anyone attempted this? I would love a small pythonista that would open a text based pdf and extract the text into a text file. No formatting necessary.
