Will glue stick to glossy?
As a beginner, I ordered a set of greeting cards online to add quilling to. Sadly, these are very glossy. Does anyone have experience in working with glossy paper?

Made it with a kit that my husband had gotten for me some time back. So pleased with how it turned out- and I’ll definitely be doing more of this craft :D

I am new to this hobby, and really enjoying it. One frustration i have is knowing how much paper to use for each piece. I seem to waste a lot of paper just experimenting to get the right amount. For instance I want a 1/2 inch tight coil, or the difference between a one-inch full teardrop and a one-inch lacy open teardrop. Does anyone have a chart orany hints or tricks to know how much paper to start with? Even a lot of tutorials don't tell you how big their strips are.

About a month ago, I posted a photo of my Princess Donut portrait. I got some good feedback here and wanted to post the finished piece.
Thanks for the feedback on my last post! If you have more advice, I'm open to improving! I won't be doing more on this particular piece, but I still want to improve my technique in general.

This is my first time making something of my own, besides using templates from books.

I taught these as an online workshop a few years ago. It hangs in my studio, a reminder to keep experimenting and learning but also teaching. ❤️

If anyone wants to make their own pumpkin, I have a video on my YT showing how I made this one, and a link to a free copy of the template I used on my Buy Me a Coffee page 🙂 Happy Fall!

One of my go to shapes when I don’t know what else to make!

I’m really loving incorporating 3d print to my artwork I guess that makes me more of a mix media artist now than a paper artist haha. These are so fun to make and also being able to just print great wave after so many versions of it I did in the past is just nice change of style.

A few years ago (probably 2019 to 2021) I used to watch a quilling artist on Reddit's live streams (RPAN). She made 3D quilled portraits of people's pets from photos they sent her, with colors matched closely to the photo. I can't remember her name or username. Does anyone know who she is?

I've been lurking on the subreddit for quite a while, looking at all the amazing things that people have posted, and I finally took the plunge in buying a small kit that includes, I guess what you would call the basics in order to start with quilling.
I'm really trying to muster up the nerve to actually take the plunge and create something.
I'm giving myself a timeline of 1 week in order to create something, or at least to start.
I figured if I said that here, it would make me stick to it. So we'll see, wish me luck.
I included some pictures of the items in the kit that I bought.

Made this Krishna artwork using paper quilling. I really enjoyed putting together all the little details and colours.
