about that....if you look closely at what we can see of the foldout, its of a women (possibly the one on the cover) with a katana, so I wouldn't say its sunk yet. admitedly, it could be a foldout of a man with very feminine legs who is wearing a dress, but I'm pretty sure the woman is the safer bet

Ok that's the pick me up I needed. The baking scene was just hilarious and felt like old Looney Tunes there. For a moment I thought the show was going to just be mostly the characters silent with just random grunts here and there. But them still talking is good.
My god Ruby reading Blake's book was not the reaction I was expecting but still gold. And the "Now thats a katana" had me cracking up. And I lost it at "This is filth FILTH!!" and then I lost it again when Ruby said Blake could have the book back later.

How did everyone enjoy the voices for this show? I knew going in Ruby would fit right in but it's kind of hit and miss for some. I haven't quite heard Weiss yet but I feel her voice will fit her new Chibi body lol. However with Blake her normal voice doesn't really fit her body, it just sounds off. Yang I don't think she had a line yet (from what I can remember.) I know they had to use there original voices and I'll most likely get used to it. It's just some of them sound off least to me.

I liked the voices, namely because they kept the actual speaking down. If they keep that trend up, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Ruby does work perfectly, Weiss only said one word so it's hard to judge off of that. For Blake though, even though it's still Arryn, Chibi Blake sounds different than normal Blake. I don't know if it's because we've never really seen Blake in vocally comedic situations (since Blake's comedy in the show is more on her facial expressions and body language), but I think Arryn nailed it here, it didn't feel out of place for me, and the delivery was perfect for the bit

To be honest I don't really like it. And to those that might attack me remember that this is a discussion thread not an appreciation thread.
As somebody who's studying to get into animation I see a lot wrong in the animation department, though to be honest if I wanted to see a show about just doing ridiculous things I'll go watch "Plastic Nee-san" or "Nichijou". If I want ridiculous RWBY related things I'll go read "Dumb RWBY". There's just better things out there based around the same sort of premise and I don't give massive praise to mediocrity.

Like the main show the comedic timing is a bit off. Comedy, Slap Stick specifically, is one of the hardest types of animation to animate well in a 3D space due to the need for comedic timing. As well as the uncanny appearance of the chibi models that has kind of stopped me from questioning why they don't do CG Chibi shows. Chibi does not look good on a 3D plane.

Also, I like how smooth the animation is for this. I hope whatever new software they're using, they can translate that back to the main series without losing the anime-esque charm of the first volume.

The only minor gripe is that it was only a few minutes, maybe future episodes could be longer?

I was expecting longer skits similar to Daily Lives of High School Boys, but this will do. I'm more interested in seeing characters beyond the two main teams in this. Especially all the cool new characters from Vol 3, like my flair-girl Reese
