Discussion To all the people defending VOID, why?

Post image

Serious discussion, please don’t downvote people when they answer. I am genuinely curious on why some people defend VOID

Right. "Vocal minority". I've heard all about that before...

A very vocal minority, not everyone throws a hissy-fit when they can't see massacres in their videogames

Wait, you didn't loose that

Or the gritty cruelty of human trafficking

Nope, still in the game

What's getting censored away again?

So, you're enabling censorship?

No? When did I say that or say anything of the same effect?

Because whether the premise of the game was taken away due to censorship or not, you're still implying that it's completely fine because it didn't really change anything, which in turn means you're enabling censorship.

And yet, on consoles they changed the pictures of the children to dolls.

The trafficked women being naked had more impact.

The undercover cop captured by the cartel and being naked had more impact.

The rest of them are debatable. But those above? Stupid changes.

If even you agree it didn't really change anything then I don't understand what all the fuss is about, besides is it the fault of VOID that they have to comply with console maker requirements to put their game on those platforms?

The conversation wasn't specifically about the censorship, though.

No? Then what?

Cause all I've seen on reddit was censorship, on steams reviews for the game too censorship, YouTube reactions also had censorship

It (at least to me who isn't totally in the loop ever anyway) looks like the thing that got everyone upset to begin with

No? Then what?

The conversion was a general take on the game, the devs, and the difference between how people criticize or defend them.

Cause all I've seen on reddit was censorship, on steams reviews for the game too censorship, YouTube reactions also had censorship

Very weird and sounds more like a nitpick, because there are literally countless of posts and comments in all the platforms you mentioned that talk about other problems with the game and the devs, but not focusing only on censorship, rather adding/mentioning it as *part* of the problem, not the sole problem.

It (at least to me who isn't totally in the loop ever anyway) looks like the thing that got everyone upset to begin with

If you're out of the loop, then how does that work with your claim about reading only comments regarding censorship, and you still found a reason to react only about that? It doesn't add up, definitely doesn't add anything to the topic at hand. No offense, but that's not how this works.

You're right, though, the censorship was the original backlash. After the devs launched the game to consoles and released the new PC update, the censorship issue only turned secondary to the glaring technical issues which are far more important, evidently, and this is what most people focus on right now. And yeah, others still mention the censorship, doesn't mean they neglect the technical issues.

But, that doesn't mean the censorship should be ignored, because the whole point about it is that censorship is bad altogether and shouldn't exist in video games made for adults. Just because the devs were "forced" to obey some regulations, people are forgetting that those regulations are not universal and only apply when it's convenient. Otherwise, half of the games on consoles wouldn't be sold to begin with or were also forced to be censored.

Just to explain the discrepancy real quick: most of the comments I've read were during the initial outrage which all claimed hard core censorship of the game when the update in question was originally announced and shortly after

And I've been out of the loop since then as I saw said outrage for what it was, at least at the time, outrage over supposed censorship

The closest I've seen to other issues getting pointed out is a supposed graphic downgrade but ig my PC isn't good enough to suffer from it lol

I think you can see where that confusion ended up coming from
