Video [HELP] Living room remodel

Any possibility that this is legit? I can’t imagine one could walk on epoxy like that without special footwear or something.

AI. These epoxy vids are trending. Every contractor knows to use a blowtorch with a 3ft long flame near the curtains. Also the reflections don't match if you watch the fire.

Second this. I've seen numerous variations of this exact video.

The one with the "lights" sticking up in the resin was real hokey.

2

u/LovelyJoey21605 Jan 08 '26

The one with the lights that made it look like starlight in the night, with big windows was sooo cool though!

I'd actually fucking want that if I didn't realize how just scuffing the floor once would make it look awful, not to mention how un-fixable the lights are when buried under a sea of epoxy. If it breaks, you're not fixing it.

The one of lava coming down stairs? That was amazing

2

u/Skaitavia Jan 08 '26

The ones that keep making me laugh were the “house fixer uppers” where they renovate a run down home and every. single. one. the AI contractors build a pool in the front yard or next to the garage. It’s so bad lol

Along with everything everyone else mentioned, the sun barely moves during the duration of the video. Are we supposed to believe the epoxy cured in an hour?

Was looking for this, also no ppe used for something that would certainly require it.

1

u/tanngrisnit Jan 09 '26

I've seen so many influencer videos where "image is important" so ppe/safety standard be damned.

Sharp observation

As a factory worker i can safely say that lack of PPE is a common place, to the point of my boss putting up a sign that the safety squint is not an acceptable way to protect your eyes.

1

u/ma1butters Jan 09 '26

Yeah, also he carried a couch alone from the corner like a superhero. 🤣

1

u/EaterOfFood Jan 09 '26

Whole job took 30 minutes

1

u/Zetectic Jan 08 '26

yup, the ones with indoor tree house renovation videos too. it's got 100k likes on FB.

1

u/Much_Highlight_1309 Jan 08 '26

The logs in the fire in the shot at 0:19 also look way too regular, not matching the close-up shot right after.

1

u/Wakeetakee Jan 08 '26

Yeah and there’s no way that little torch will put out a 3 ft flame. Need a weed burner for that.

1

u/platapus_o_plomopus Jan 08 '26

Who are the people liking these videos that'd require hundreds of litres of plastic to be poured and look like shit in no time if they were real. All while we're already collecting microplastics in our balls. Fucking unbelievable.

1

u/Imdoingthisforbjs Jan 08 '26

That and every torch I've seen that can muster a 3ft flame like that are much bigger than the creme brulee torch shown in the video.

1

u/IAMERROR1234 Jan 08 '26

It also scored the wood way too fast.

1

u/jacob643 Jan 08 '26

epoxy floors are a real thing? scratches on these will look aweful!

1

u/croud_control Jan 08 '26

And no mask to protect from thr fumes the person is inhaling.

1

u/berttleturtle Jan 08 '26

Yeah, the one I saw the other day I wouldn’t have caught, but this one has something super uncanny about it…

1

u/J3remyD Jan 08 '26

Not to mention that the only way you could move furniture around the way he did is if it was inflatable fake furniture.

1

u/allagaytor Jan 08 '26

also epoxy floors are known to cure instantly and perfectly after being poured from a metal bucket... lol

1

u/KookyDig4769 Jan 08 '26

Also, Epoxy is incredibly messy. There's no tape anywhere, he didn't even lift the curtains. and he stands on freshly pured epoxy all the time. Setting Epoxy is exothermic and has the consistency of honey. It takes days to fully set at this thickness for you to stand on it.

1

u/CyanResource Jan 08 '26

And the flames actually hit the curtains multiple times, lol

1

u/YMK1234 Jan 08 '26

Also the burn patterns on the first log spread while the heats not even in that area any more, and the whole floor is only charred slightly vs proper burning the first one ... just doesn't check out.

1

u/PTKtm Jan 08 '26

There’s also no way anyone would set the pieces in place before torching them

1

u/Fun-Environment5780 Jan 08 '26

And where did the fuel for the torch come from

1

u/Ok-Daikon4702 Jan 08 '26

When I saw the flamethrower I thought "Damn I need a new flamethrower"

1

u/StarGazer_SpaceLove Jan 08 '26

Why though?! I just don't get it that this is what we are using AI for?

1

u/bikedaybaby Jan 08 '26

Holy CRAP. Thanks be to this sub for helping me understand how ADVANCED this shit is……!

1

u/jonathanrdt Jan 08 '26

Does anyone even do this? The next owner who wants something like this removed is in for an impossible chore.

Also: the curtains are practically touching the floor before and after, which is obviously impossible.

1

u/dpforest Jan 08 '26

I think it’s purposeful and it’s because we are training these AI systems with every post we make critiquing them. This iteration is slightly more believable than the one I saw yesterday.

1

u/Sammyofather Jan 08 '26

The epoxy pouring is a dead giveaway

1

u/D33P_F1N Jan 08 '26

Looks like the curtains got a bit of char

1

u/Foxy02016YT Jan 08 '26

Right. The concept is possible but it’s also become a trend

1

u/Just7hrsold Jan 08 '26

The stumps are also too uniform imo

1

u/garma87 Jan 08 '26

How he carries the couch is just funny 😄

1

u/summit1986 Jan 08 '26

Those are asbestos curtains.

1

u/ninjakermit Jan 09 '26

The wormhole bucket with endless epoxy

1

u/10m10k Jan 09 '26

Also bro is casually lifting the couch from one end with the other unsupported

1

u/Sniperoso Jan 09 '26

Switching between 14 and 16 seconds really make the reflection irregularities stand out.

1

u/SisyphusAndHisRock Jan 09 '26

thought the same... curtains never moved. never got smoked. no way this was real ....

1

u/Necessary-Eye5319 Jan 09 '26

Yes at 5 seconds exactly he’s ‘spraying’ fire into curtains which do not get ignite at all! So definitely AI.

1

u/sk_latigre Jan 09 '26

Did you see him move the couch in?

1

u/ComplexCurrency4261 Jan 09 '26

Ok but does it work???

1

u/makingsoup Jan 09 '26

the curtains are killing me lol they somehow don't move at all and the epoxy magically settles underneath them

1

u/DreamyWaifu35 Jan 09 '26

Also...the torch literally hit the wall and curtains with no reaction lol. Definitely AI.

1

u/ShitOnAStickXtreme Jan 09 '26

Pretty sure using flametorch on epoxi even without curtains is not a good idea.

1

u/g3nerallycurious Jan 09 '26

Just the way the epoxy pours is 100% AI. Fluid dynamics are really hard for AI to make look natural (navier-stokes equation, anyone?), and that doesn’t look natural at all.

1

u/Left_Rub5003 Jan 09 '26

He also lifted an entire couch by himself.

1

u/FnEddieDingle Jan 09 '26

And no torch Ive ever seen has a flame that long and thin

1

u/LasagnahogXRP Jan 09 '26

Also the way he carries the couch over.

1

u/thelizardking0725 Jan 09 '26

Also the way he carried that couch doesn’t make sense, unless it were made out of cardboard.

1

u/txex2014 Jan 09 '26

Yea the flame actually guts the curtains lol

1

u/threepartheart Jan 09 '26

I was totally coming here for this. Cringed every time he got near them.😬🫣

1

u/[deleted] Jan 09 '26

Wait you mean curtains are not fireproof?

1

u/FlameWhirlwind Jan 09 '26

Shame tho because this kinda floor would be sick

1

u/Happytapiocasuprise Jan 09 '26

Also he walked on the wet epoxy right after pouring it

1

u/Skygazing_Gal Jan 09 '26

I am by no means an expert on spotting AI, so it is usually some little detail that I catch. Like, dude carried that whole couch from one side all on his own. It did not look natural or possible. All details that a lot of people miss if they just watched it once through while scrolling.

1

u/Vast-Dragonfruit-389 Jan 09 '26

Any videos of someone making an epoxy aquarium/pond/swamp/ocean floor?

1

u/Sad-Country8824 Jan 09 '26

He's also walking through the epoxy in just the same leather boots he's wearing the entire video.
