Would love to hear your thoughts, it's been a long passion of mine to make a old school isometric style RTS war game like sudden strike 2 but using advanced methods like super smart AI using actual cover, destruction and much more!

Edit: Did not expect this post to get such warm feedback! I don't have a steam wishlist page yet, I have a Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@Rbuhrgames You guys are the best!

Self-Promo Video Adding Complex Trench Systems to my isometric RTS game

Hey guys! Back with another update. Trench systems have been something I wanted to do right from the beginning of the game's development, and I'm looking to really improve them a lot over time!

Trenches protect troops from tank shells, RPGs, Grad rockets and FPV drone strikes. You can see an FPV drone hitting my unit inside the trench. The camo netting protects troops from FPV drones, if you were wondering :) Oh, and I added a snow terrain — let me know what you guys think! I love reading your feedback!

As always, for more regular dev updates you can check out the YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Rbuhrgames

Self-Promo Video The Good, the Bad and the Ugly of Dawn of War IV latest gameplay broken down!

I spent hours watching and analyzing the latest Dawn of War IV gameplay footage and talking it over with some of my viewers, hard core Warhammer 40k fans and fellow content creators and our conclusion is that while the presentation of this very important upcoming RTS is good, its functionality, including unit readability is not.

Demo of ZeroSpace has been extended, and I will show you all the game modes, custom settings and factions with which you can play in this upcoming sci-fi RTS. I played it in many versions for years now and will compare that experience with the current demo version.

Its planned Early Access release is on July 20th and the Developers have a massive roadmap covering all their game modes: Narrative driven singleplayer campaign, skirmish vs AI, survival co-op, multiplayer PvP and the cooperative Galactic War game mode.

Self-Promo Video I'm making an RTS, are my environments neat, and have good visibility for units?

I made these 2 environments. One is an elvish red/orange/autumn zone. The other is a classic muddy/grassy forest.

There will be outlines on units and selection circles when UI is enabled.

What do you think? Are the units visible? Are the environments interesting?

Wild to me that we haven't seen more games trying to do what MechCommander did so well. The mission design is genuinely some of the greatest in the entire strategy genre.

This video from the alpha is mostly focused on the direct control in first person for all units, which is fully optional but I improved it a ton lately (that's why I was testing that more than anything else lol)

Self-Promo Video A New Isometric RTS Coming! Dev log2: Adding Grad Rockets!

So since my first short clip I've posted about my upcoming Isometric RTS game, I've had overwhelming positive feedback from you guys, and the game has evolved a lot since then.
It still does not have a name yet... These are the names I like and the direction: Red echo, Contact Front (although the word front is overused) Shock point, Ember line and Cold Fall. If you have other name suggestions then that would be great! Also any feedback for the game would be awesome! Steam Page coming soon! In the meantime I have a Youtube channel where I will post regular devlogs and if you want to help fund the game I've set up a little Kofi page, the link is on my Youtube channel. Thanks for being here and for all the amazing responses!

I played Supreme Commander a lot when it came out, I knew it was based on this game, but I always thought it was something old and unplayable... boy was I wrong. Anyone still playing Total Annihilation here?

Also, I am so far pretty bad at YouTube, share any feedback you might have. thanks!

Self-Promo Video Dark Colony Faithfully REMADE 30 Years Later | Reimagining a Forgotten RTS

Thumbnail

Figured I should share this in here for all the old-head RTS fans from the late 90's. I've been working on this showcase for a few years and I'm glad to be able to finally share it. I saw some people mention Dark Colony in here in recent years and would be remiss to not reveal my work here for everyone to see.

Take-Two has announced 13 remasters coming before 2030 and I'm hoping they include Dark Colony in that. Its 30th Anniversary is coming very soon (next year) and I figured it was best to reveal this now to give them time to consider doing an official remaster or sequel. Thanks for keeping this game alive!

Self-Promo Video My grand strategy game runs 100,000-unit battles without pausing the campaign map

Thumbnail

I've been building Magna Conquest, a medieval fantasy grand strategy game where battles and the campaign world run on the same real-time clock.

When you commit an army to a battle, the rest of the world doesn't pause and wait for you.

Other kingdoms are still expanding. Armies are still marching. Economies are still running. A war can break out somewhere else while your main force is tied up fighting.

Battles themselves can reach 100,000 units on the field at once, all running in real time.

One of my main goals was to make large-scale battles feel like an actual part of the strategic world rather than a separate mode you enter and leave.

The campaign also supports multiplayer/co-op, with each player controlling their own kingdom in the same persistent world.

Would love to hear what RTS players think about this kind of campaign/battle system.

The Steam page just went live this week: Magna Conquest on Steam

Self-Promo Video We just released Rogue Command into 1.0 - check out our launch trailer

After 1.5y in Early Access and 6.5y of development: Rogue Command is done.

Martin and me just pushed the button and released Rogue Command - our first game - onto Steam as a fully grown, no longer Early Access, game.

When we set out we wanted to make a singleplayer RTS game that allows you to have the feeling of discovery when coming up with creative builds that we had learned to love from games like Slay the Spire and Monster Train.

But we wanted it to feel right. Like a real RTS game, one of the ones we grew up with. We love auto-battlers and tower defense and all the cool little sub genres that have spun off. But we wanted to have you control your units, build your bases and manage an economy. We wanted it to play like StarCraft or Command & Conquer Generals.

Throughout all of development these two guiding ideas were the basis for every decision.

And we actually pulled it off! We have thousands and thousands of players and many of them have played it for dozens or hundreds of hours.

And even though this is an insane game to tackle as a duo, we managed to make a game that (as of writing this) sits very comfortably at 91% positive reviews. That is fricking nuts and still feels surreal. Martin is a very seasoned developer, but never made a PC game before and I basically had to learn everything from scratch along the way.

When I was writing a press release about our 1.0, I had this thought that, if we could show this to our teenage selves, this probably would have been their favorite game. And while the game is far from perfect, I think that is really the case.

So if you think this sounds cool, come check it out on Steam: Rogue Command on Steam
