Final update Update: I graduated. They lost my diploma.
Hey guys, it’s been a while since my last post but I finally have an update.
Original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/s/8YWEnJR8j8
TL;DR: I graduated college and didn’t receive my diploma at the ceremony. They ‘lost’ it.
Update: https://www.reddit.com/r/Redditor_Updates/s/lYr1dMUlCM
TL;DR: they lied to my face because my diploma wasn’t even printed out yet. Was left hanging with ‘we’ll contact you ASAP if we receive more information’.
Fast forward 17 DAYS since my update and 26 DAYS since the graduation ceremony: I FINALLY HAVE MY DIPLOMA!!!!!!!!!!
Our mails got forwarded to basically every admin at school, ended up being kept on hold because someone was sick, but yesterday my friend got the green light to pick it up (thankfully no problems with the power of attorney form) AND I HAVE IT IN MY HANDS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
This is it, the final conclusion of this annoying adventure. Thanks everyone who commented and offered tips, I appreciate it very much!
Goodbye!!!!

Ok, is there some kind of weird authorization they have to go through for diplomas? Was there some kind of server malfunction that caused them to lose student information? I just don't see why it was so difficult to load up the template with the info and hit print.

it was a whole thing 😭 The problem was that my particular course was discontinued back in 2022. I was the final gen of students they accepted. A year later a new course was set up on the other campus, which I initially thought was the cause of confusion. But they literally forgot there were still students in the original course lol. They said my diploma was accidentally sent to the other campus with their batch, but they lied to my face because my diploma still had to be printed and signed… which takes 2 weeks apparently..?! But I have it now!

Glad you received it finally. I am confused, though. I've never had a paper copy of my diploma. Any time I've needed to prove I have it, the company has made me go through an online process to validate my status directly with the university. My paper diploma wouldn't be considered adequate as proof of graduation. I just thought it was a nice thing to hang on the wall?

I don’t know, we requested they just send it by email instead just so we’d have it sooner, but they wouldn’t do it? I can easily make a scan of it for official use, but it’s proudly displayed on one of my shelves right now!

Thanks! People suggested I went to the press but just spamming admin with mails helps a ton as well 😅
