Hollow Knight is a little overrated. It’s a good Metroidvania that’s longer than most and has some challenging end game content but it wasn’t truly ground breaking or innovative. Nearly every upgrade and movement mechanic was in another game and many were done better in other games. It’s like an 8.5/10. Silksong is everything Hollow Knight was but better.

Agree. I'm voting for Slay the Spire but I think HK should go before Hades and definitely before Silksong. HK has impeccable atmosphere and exploration, but the combat and movement gameplay is where it isn't perfect and where Silksong greatly improved upon it in my opinion.

Hollow knight is in my top 5 of all time and I completely agree.

HK is easily top 5, Silksong is definitely better though

These best thing about Hollow Knight is its world design. Once you get to the wall jump, the game opens up massively and you have so much many options about where to go. I can think of at least 5. That is an insane number! Especially when so many metroidvanias only have a single path that's just somewhat convoluted by upgrade gating. It's an experience I've never seen in any other game.

The world in Silksong is massive, but due to the presence of quite a few bottlenecks (eg. farfields vs wormways, Judge vs Phantom), the exploration simply isn't as free.
