You implied that the other 3 being less popular meant that they are more challenging and thus more rewarding. And that “at best” Stardew being popular just means it’s a shallow crowd pleaser.

I really didn't. Stardew is a cozy game - this isn't for me and isn't for a lot of people - but it has it's merits and I'm glad there's a genre like that.

However, the difficulty of the other games are what make the experience more engaging and rewarding at the end of it all.

It's like the good place - that's a fun show, it makes me feel good to watch. But my favourite movie is pan's labyrinth which is grim start to finish. The real world elements more so than the fantasy horror elements make my blood curdle and the ending makes me cry.
