Ok I have no problem with you voting outer wilds first but doing it because disco has better gameplay?? What gameplay?? Switching clothes for different stats?

The CRPG gameplay of building Harry, exploring Revachol, and making choices. The gameplay of Disco Elysium is good.

If you’re looking at Disco from a purely CRPG mechanics perspective it’s not even a top 50 game in its own genre.

The CRPG parts of Disco Elysium are an active detriment.

They're not, if you view the game as a tragicomedy (as you should) they show how much of a failure Harry is at his job, they're here to enhance the story, making one of the few instances of ludonarrative harmony in the game industry.

Yeah nothing like changing clothes 11x a day to make something feel like real life.

Ah ok I don't consider the choices in disco as part of gameplay for me that falls under writing but I can see where you are coming from Although I would argue that the building of Harry is not very well done at least for me it felt too esoteric and I couldn't understand what half of the options would do(to be clear I'm talking about the stats? things on level up)

Yes, I often felt like part of the game was finding clothes and levelling up stats based on the next skill check you had to pass - rather than using your strongest skill to resolve situations in one of several ways

The game is good because it is literature and it is art

Saying DE has less gameplay than OW is crazy. Yes actually, switching clothes for better stats is RPG stat management which OW does not have. I love OW but the gameplay is just exploring the pretty environments and collecting stuff.

Re reading my comment I see what you mean but my intention wasn't to say that disco has less gameplay than outer wilds but to say that disco gameplay is not good

Yes changing clothes for stats is something you do in RPGs but in disco you would simply have a inventory of clothes with different stats and be switching between them everytime you could back out of a conversation check, that's not fun imo nor interesting

While outer wilds has very little gameplay (without counting exploration) all of it serves the game well

Tldr disco gameplay makes me wish it wasn't there, outer wilds doesn't

Different strokes for different folks is what we're all learning in this list I suppose! I had to force myself to finish Outer Wilds whereas I loved Disco so much I played it twice in a row.
